Mayor Ron Nirenberg has lost his campaign director just one week before early voting begins.
The mayor’s reelection campaign announced it severed ties with Ryan Garcia on Monday, April 12, a week before early voting for the May 1 election begins, according to an Express-News report. Though a concrete reason was not provided, Nirenberg’s campaign chairman and chief political advisor Gilberto Ocañas did tell the newspaper that Garcia’s departure was a personnel issue.
“He accomplished the things that we wanted him to accomplish,” Ocañas told the Express-News. “It was time for him to focus on something else.”
