PASAY CITY, Dec. 17 -- When he received the invitation from the Cultural Center of the Philippines to participate in its virtual Simbang Gabi project, Father James Narisma, Cssr, the rector of Our Mother of Perpetual Help (Redemptorist) Church in Iligan City, was quite hesitant.
“I asked myself and my other companions here in our religious community, why us? There are more beautiful churches and good livestreaming facilities in Mindanao,” shared Fr. Narisma, who had a change of heart later on, believing that this is God’s way for the people to witness the gospel values.
This year, due to the current situation, the CCP decided to migrate its annual tradition of Simbang Gabi to the digital platform. While at it, the Center ambitiously seizes the opportunity to reach out and partner with different parishes all over the Philippines to bring this time-honored tradition to every Filipino home here and abroad.
