The police command in Akwa Ibom State has launched an operation to rescue a former permanent secretary in the state, Sir Ignatius Brown, who was kidnapped Monday while returning from a church meeting. The police have also launched a manhunt to apprehend the assailants who kidnapped Brown in the Abak local government area of the state, South-South Nigeria. It was gathered that the former Permanent Secretary, who is the chairman of St. John's Catholic Church Council, Abak LGA, was abducted a few metres away from his home by hoodlums who trailed him and overtook his vehicle.
