Nicosia to Oversee Binghamton National Weather Service Office
Nicosia will become the meteorologist-in-charge of the facility at Greater Binghamton Airport next month.
Nicosia is succeeding Douglas Butts, who recently started work in the same position at the weather service office in Blacksburg, Virginia.
Speaking on WNBF Radio's
Binghamton Now program, Nicosia said he'll start in his new role on June 6.
Nicosia grew up in Athens, Pennsylvania. He's worked for the National Weather Service for 30 years. He has been the warning coordination meteorologist at the Binghamton office since August 1999.
