NHS Highland area detects a further sixteen new Covid-19 cases; increase comes as Scotland reported 689 coronavirus infections in past day

SIXTEEN further Covid-19 cases have been reported across NHS Highland.
The region's cumulative number of cases rose to 1697 when the latest daily update was published on Wednesday.
Scotland reported 689 positive tests for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.
Some 1031 people were receiving treatment in hospital for the virus yesterday – up 35 from the previous day.
