The Giants need to win now, and they just went out and spent money in free agency like a team that feels like it’s ready to do so. They wouldn’t have paid significant money to keep Leonard Williams and add both Kenny Golladay and Adoree’ Jackson if the organization didn’t believe it was ready to take the next step.
Maybe there’s not an exact win total that will get there, but six wins — or a losing record at all — certainly won’t cut it. And now there’s an extra game for the Giants to get there, too, as the NFL added the 17th game to the slate this year.
