The Seattle Seahawks selected a key component of the Oklahoma Sooners' secondary in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday, picking Tre Brown with the No. 137 pick.The selection makes Brown the first OU cornerback selected in the NFL Draft since Zack Sanchez was taken in the fifth round in 2016. Brown also is the highest-drafted OU cornerback since Aaron Colvin was taken in the fourth round in 2014.During his time in Norman, Brown won four Big 12 championships and was part of three teams that made the College Football Playoff. In 51 career games, Brown recorded 141 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, four interceptions and 31 pass breakups, which ranks sixth in program history."Tre really grew a lot throughout his career here. He came in as a talented guy and left as a guy who was much more technically sound," OU football coach Lincoln Riley said in a news release Saturday. "He really played consistently for us in the defensive secondary this past year. He made a lot of big plays. He was a big factor in the special teams game as well, which I think had the interest of several NFL teams. I think he'll do a great job in both of those areas with Seattle."Brown was a 2020 second-team All-Big 12 selection by league coaches and media and a 2018 second-team All-Big 12 pick by the coaches as a kick returner.
