DURHAM – A UNH graduate's desire to build social communities has led him to develop technology that helps people connect with resources to help them overcome their struggles with mental health and addiction issues.
The promise of how helpful Sam Warach’s tech might be is evident in the fact that he has agreements with the state of New Hampshire and New York City to supply products from his company, NextStep HealthTech.
“It started from a real passion for wanting to contribute to community development in the field of public health,” said Warach.
“When I was younger, I saw so many people in so much pain, and back then there was a lot of stigma associated with mental health and substance use conditions, as there still is,” he added. “I'm optimistic we're moving toward reduction in stigma, so people can be more open about getting the support that they need.”
