Cheryl Valdahl, a teacher at Walker-Winter Elementary School in Canton, knows she has an amazing class of first-graders this year. She just hasn’t met them in person yet.
She’s been teaching online since the school year started, but is hopeful for a return to in-person learning after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced teachers would be among the next in line for vaccinations, starting Monday, Jan. 11.
