Newtown Police Log: Mail Fraud, DUI Arrests & More

NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents between Jan. 8 and Jan. 14.*

A man entered the TD Bank branch on Upper Silver Lake Road and attempted to cash a fraudulent check. By the time police arrived, the man was no longer at the bank. The investigation remains ongoing.

January 12
A resident contacted police after they received an unemployment debit card in the mail from the state of Ohio. The resident reported the fraud to the Federal Trade Commission and to Ohio's unemployment department.
Police responded to Dogs & Cats Rule on West Road for a reported scam theft, with the total value of loss at $19. The investigation is ongoing.
