Andrew CuomoThe first confirmed case in New York of the highly contagious variant of the coronavirus believed to have originated in the United Kingdom, B.1.1.7, may have been connected to travel from the UK after all.
On Monday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo told reporters in a conference call that the jeweler from Saratoga Springs who tested positive for the variant had not traveled recently, so evidence suggested the virus was in the community.
