New York auctions stolen Corvette recovered in Rochester for $34,900

ALBANY – A stolen red Chevrolet Corvette recovered in Rochester will ultimately put $34,900 into New York state's coffers, assuming the sale closes.
The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette with a Stingray trim, V8 engine and 31,320 miles on the odometer fetched that amount at auction Monday, marking the second time the state Office of General Services had tried to sell the flashy sportscar.
The online auction drew a high bid that was $2,600 more than the first time the state tried to sell the car in June, when the bidder backed out before the sale was finalized.
Now, OGS is hopeful the second sale will close.
