Ringing in the new year will look different because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In York, there will be no crowds or fireworks, but people can instead welcome 2021 during a virtual celebration.âWeâre working pretty hard to bring the community together where we can still celebrate what we have here,â said Collin Holder of the Parliament Arts Organization.Although the white rose will still drop from the side of the Rupp building in Continental Square, the event will be recorded days before Dec. 31. The descent will then be broadcast on social media on the big night.âIf you miss the drop at midnight, no worries. You can tune back in anytime on our Facebook page to see it,â Holder said. The Rupp building will also be decked out with holiday lights starting on Christmas Eve.
