The Great, a mostly untrue retelling of Empress Catherine the Great of Russia's life, it has enjoyed a lot of success with its patented formula, so it's no surprise its latest project will also focus on a forgotten historical royal.
The Serpent Queen, an eight-part series airing later this year, will focus on the life of Catherine de' Medici, the Queen Consort of France who was the wife of King Henry II and the mother of three kings, Francis II, Charles IX and Henry III.
