Look out Napean Sea residents. Bandra will soon catch up with a
synthetic track
Bandra’s Joggers Park – the iconic place in the suburbs — is getting a massive makeover. For the first time, it will get a synthetic track – a boon for joggers. The park was closed down on December 11 and is likely to open up only in January 2021. At present, Priyadarshini Park off
Napean Sea Road is the only park with a synthetic track.
The track was sanctioned by the then
municipal commissioner Praveen Pardeshi who had also visited the park. Joggers Park was constructed in the mid-90s and was carved out of a garbage dump. It has four tracks – one with mud, one with paver blocks and two concrete tracks.
