MONIQUE FORD/STUFF
Pop star Stan Walker is raring to get back to work and doesn’t want to be defined by his survivor status.
It’s hard to write about Stan Walker without trotting out tired phrases like ‘triumph over adversity’ or ‘beating the odds’.
As documented in his memoir
Impossible: My Story, Walker’s at-times difficult childhood featured violence, poverty and, arguably, one of the worst forms of abuse.
Born in Australia, he grew up in New Zealand and in his birth country. He changed schools more than most children and was suspended from every one of them.
