Santa Fe County remains in the red under the state's framework for assessing COVID-19 and will stay under the current restrictions for at least the next two weeks. However, the county has improved significantly in both of the metrics the state evaluates.
Under the health department's red-to-green framework, counties are assessed every two weeks for daily per-capita case rates and test positivity rates. Those meeting neither operate under the strictest limits, such as no indoor dining and 25% outdoor dining capacities. Counties meeting one criteria fall into the yellow category and have some more options, such as 25% capacity for indoor dining and 75% of maximum capacity for outdoors dining. Green counties—those meeting both—have the most options with, for example, 50% capacity for indoor dining.
