EUGENE, Ore.-- Nearly a month after a fire at a homeless camp in Eugene turned into a violent explosion, a new camp popped up under the same bridge.
The camp is now along Hilyard Street under the Ferry Street bridge. The bridge was damaged in April near Country Club road from the fire and explosion. At that spot, an orange fence is still up to keep people from setting up tents again. However, the new camp on Hilyard Street is causing some concern. Jamie Vooheers is the General Manager for Good Times Bar and she said it's impacting her business. Vooheers said customers don't want to park near the camp, campers panhandle customers sitting outside, and a tip jar was stolen from the bar.
