New Haven mayor nominates city police official for chief

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker nominated a high-ranking city police official for chief Monday following a nationwide search. The mayor announced Assistant Chief Karl Jacobson was his pick to lead the department.
