Despite a sense of urgency to return students to the classroom, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has set a high bar for how to do it safely amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thenew CDC guidelines come as parents and educators in many Michigan communities are engaged in intense debate over reopening schools. The federal agency says schools can open safely if they put layered mitigation measures in place and offers a road map based on the surrounding community’s rate of COVID-19 transmission.
