The former site of a New Bedford institution will soon have a new occupant that is the culmination of two local women's lifelong dream to open their own restaurant.
Krave Restaurant is "going to give new life to a local landmark," said Boramy Green, who along with Kerrie Gomes is the co-owner of New Bedford's newest home for bona fide Asian fusion cuisine.
These enterprising local women are rescuing the iconic Chuck's China Inn on Acushnet Avenue with a re-awakening that dovetails with the new beginnings they see all over the city.
"New Bedford is up and coming again, and we're going to be a part of that turn for the better," Gomes said. She moved away for a few years, only to return with a new appreciation for the place she grew up in. "Just look at all the redevelopment going on and happening places coming on the scene, like Cisco Brewery. Krave is going to be part of that rising spirit."
