Talk about courage; it's not easy to open up a business in general, let alone during a pandemic. Kiyla's Korner actually came about in a special way that is becoming the new normal for some businesses up against the wall with COVID-19 pandemic bearing down on them.
David Bizarro, the owner of Bizarro's transportation in New Bedford, is Kiyla's grandfather and also the co-owner of Kiyla's Korner. When the coronavirus hit the SouthCoast, he lost about 90 percent of his transportation business. Since only a small amount of people are traveling these days, there's been little demand for luxury transportation to the airports, leaving Bizarro in a pickle.
