New Alton walk-in clinic offers COVID-19 testing

ALTON — The Urgent Care Walk-In Clinic has opened at 1417 Washington Ave., Alton.
This facility is part of a larger group called Doctor’s Urgent Care Group (DUCG). The group, based in Troy, Michigan, has recently expanded to 20 locations nationwide, including facilities in Granite City and Belleville. In addition, the group has more than 60 physician assistants and nurse practitioners and a staff of more than 150 nationwide.
Heather Harman, Nurse Practitioner for the Alton facility, said that the idea for a facility in Alton came early in 2020.
“They (DUCG) definitely wanted to expand here and in other places,” she said.
