Nevada will pause the use of the single-dose COVID-19 vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson, following the recommendation from federal regulators announced Tuesday.
In a statement, the Nevada Health Response team said the state's health department and immunization program are contacting providers to tell them about the announcement.
Officials are working to avoid disrupting vaccination clinics that have already been scheduled, according to the Health Response team.
The Janssen vaccine was also being used in two Mobile Vaccine Units that were traveling through rural Nevada. The state says no clinics were planned for Tuesday, and an update on the plans for the MVUs will come once more information is available.
