Neighbours have told a NSW Supreme Court murder trial of the moment they heard high-pitched screams before a woman was found burned alive on their street.
A high-pitched and piercing scream that lasted up to three minutes was followed by a smell a Sydney murder trial witness had never experienced before.
'It was abnormal not the usual car or fire smell, very unusual ... it certainly didn't smell like bushfire or trees or grass,' Alison Stuart told the NSW Supreme Court.
'It was something that I had never smelled before.'
