NegOr brgy officials take lead in managing COVID-19 in communities

DUMAGUETE CITY, June 3 (PIA) -- Barangay officials in Negros Oriental will have a bigger role to play in managing the COVID-19 situation in their communities.
This after Negros Oriental Gov. and Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force-Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID) Chairperson Roel Degamo issued Executive Order No. 16 yesterday directing barangay officials through the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs) to take the I lead in implementing laws, ordinances, and issuances related to COVID-19 and ensuring that their constituents follow the said policies and prescribed health protocols.
One example of this is the adoption of "Zoning Containment Strategies" or granular lockdowns to prevent the spread of the virus.
