'India Detoxing From China's Cheap Tech Drug': Experts Support Keeping 5G Trials Huawei-Free

This week India's Department of Telecoms (DoT) finally gave the green light to telecom firms to proceed with the delayed 5G trials. In an official press note, the DoT named Samsung, Nokia and Ericsson to help Indian telcos set up the equipment needed for 5G trials, while excluding Chinese tech companies, Huawei and ZTE.
Even though India's telecom department did not specify that Chinese tech players are being kept out of participating in the country's 5G trials, government sources revealed to the media that New Delhi has made a priority of the country’s national security over an inclusive 5G playground involving Chinese companies.
