READERS of the News & Star hit out at "inconsiderate parking" which has prevented emergency services from accessing parts of the Lake District and halted Stagecoach services on certain routes.
Stagecoach has suspended the 77 and 77A services around Catbells due to ‘inconsiderate parking and heavy congestion’ as the tourist season began in earnest in the Lake District.
The company said that the route was blocked by cars making passing impossible.
Dan Harding said: "The council should tow these vehicles and charge £500 to get them back."
Leona Borthwick said: "I was up catbells at 8am this morning, got the last parking space just by the bottom! When we left around 9.30/10am it was so busy people parked on the yellow lines and the grass verges."
