DIMAPUR — Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has notified all the head of registered institutions that the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will organise a special programme for school children called ‘Young Scientist Programme’ or ‘Yuva Vigyani Karyakram’ (YUVIKA- 2023). The programme is aimed at creating awareness about the emerging trends in science and technology among the youngsters; to impart basic knowledge on space technology, space science and space applications with a preference to rural areas; and to encourage more students to pursue in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) based research/ career. It informed that the residential programme would be of two weeks duration during summer holidays (May 15-26, 2023), and the schedule would include invited talks, experience sharing by eminent scientists, experimental demonstration, facility and lab visits, exclusive session for discussions with experts, practical and feedback sessions. The programme aims to select 350 students studying in class 9 as on January 1, 2023, within the territory of India.
