CALOOCAN CITY, May 12 (PIA) -- The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) today arrested two individuals allegedly involved in human trafficking in separate entrapment operations conducted in the cities of Parañaque and Pasay.
NBI Officer-in-Charge (OIC)- Director Eric B. Distor identified the arrested suspects as spouses Kong, Ma. Angelica y Belga and Kong, Xiangce, a Chinese national.
Distor said the sting operation, conducted by the NBI-Rizal District Office (NBI-RIZDO), also resulted in the rescue of twenty (20) women-victims, of whom, two have been identified by the NBI as minors.
The NBI chief said the operation stemmed from an intelligence report that a group of unidentified individuals are engaged in prostitution and human trafficking activities, particularly sexual exploitation of minor victims.
