Recently released draft summaries for the new farm bill from the House and Senate ag committees will move conversations along, but neither is a final version, says Jake Westlin, vice president of policy and communications for the National Association of Wheat Growers. He doesn't foresee a final bill before the presidential election. "There's going to be a lot of 'wait and see' in terms of what the exact details are," Westlin says. "I do think there's a reasonable path forward there, but it is going to be a long and arduous process."
