Indiana's campaign will take place March 14 through 20, with the drill scheduled for 9:15 a.m. on March 16.
Officials said they hope local residents will take time this week to learn about the various types of severe weather and how to respond.
"The best way to mitigate casualties from severe weather is to be informed and then respond by taking the necessary precautions," said Christine Wielgos, NWS Paducah assistant warning coordination meteorologist.
NWS will be sharing infographics on its social media pages, including tornado safety tips and explainers defining a severe thunderstorm or outlining the difference between a weather watches and a warnings.
