The Cuyahoga River overflows its banks in Valley View.
INDEPENDENCE, Ohio — The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a flood warning for a portion of the Cuyahoga River in Independence.
The warning is in effect until 8:30 p.m. Saturday, NWS Meteorologist Raelene Campbell said.
Campbell said it’s possible the warning could be extended because of the rain the area is getting Saturday morning.
Water in the Cuyahoga River usually sits around 6 feet on a normal day.
“With all this rain it’s now sitting just under 16 and a half feet,” Campbell said. “So it’s rained quite a bit.”
