Unsure of what to do with unused or expired prescription drugs, residents in the Mid-Ohio Valley can drop them off at various locations as part of the National Take-Back Day program on Saturday.
The day aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs while also educating the public about the potential for abuse of medications.
Washington County Deputy Sheriff Duane Painter said residents can bring anything from insulin needles, pills and medication patches. Liquid medications will not be accepted and COVID protocols must be used at the locations.
Materials must be provided in a bag, but Painter said volunteers will bag the items if residents are unable to provide one.
