Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade edged its arch-rival Partizan mts Belgrade 78-79 in a thriller to reach the final of the Serbian Cup where it will face Mega Soccerbet Belgrade on Sunday. Partizan built an early lead hitting five triples in the first quarter, including two apiece from Marcus Paige and Ognjen Jaramaz, and one from Josh Perkins to open the second quarter made it 30-22. Aleksa Uskokovic and Dejan Davidovac helped Zvezda close the deficit, and Jordan Loyd scored from long range, but Rade Zagorac, Paige and Jaramaz kept Partizan's lead safe. Partizan led 46-40 at halftime, and a triple from Dangubic made it 51-40 early in the third. Zvezda replied with three triples, one apiece from Uskoovic, Johnny O'Bryant and Davidovac to get within 53-51. Rashawn Thomas helped Partizan stay ahead, and restore an 8-point lead, 63-55 early in the fourth. But Davidovac had a pair of basket-plus-fouls before Paige and Marko Simonovic traded three-pointers to make it 68-66. Loyd's triple gave Zvezda its first lead, 70-71 with 3:40 left. Teams traded one-point leads the rest of the way, with Davidovac making a pair of free throws with 9.3 seconds to go to give Zvezda the lead before the team made a defensive stand to win a game. Loyd paced the winners with 24 points, and Davidovac scored 19 for Zvezda. Jaramaz had 18 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds for Partizan and Paige netted 16 in a loss.
