ÂITHACA, NY -- A year after Sen. Chuck Schumer said he was going to get involved in keeping Ithacaâs North Tioga Street post office in service, he announced a victory. The U.S. Postal Service was able to reach an agreement with the town, keeping the post office open.
âIthacaâs historic downtown post office is a pillar of the cityâs business district, with countless residents and commercial institutions dependent on its central location and easy accessibility for their postal needs, which is why I called on the USPS to keep it right where it is,â Schumer said in a statement.
