Every year, National Football League teams nominate a player for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. It is considered one of the league's highest honors. Players who have won the award receive a Walter Payton-inspired jersey patch that they'll wear for the rest of their careers.
The 2020 Cleveland Browns Walter Payton Man of the Year Award nominee also happens to be one of the best players on the team and in the league, in Pro Bowl defensive end Myles Garrett.
Garrett, the 2017 No.1 pick, is the "active player captain" of the Waterboys organization. The group works to bring clean water to communities in need in East Africa and has funded 83 wells that serve more than 350,000 people. Last year, Garrett traveled to Tanzania for a two-week trip to help install wells.
