SPRINGFIELD — With the man who murdered her father nearly 30 years ago back behind bars, the world feels right again.
John Stote, convicted in 1997 in the brutal stabbing death of Springfield bar owner John “Jackie” Regan three years earlier, received a rare medical parole in late January from the commissioner of the state Department of Corrections. Stote, 61, had contracted COVID-19 and was on a ventilator.
