A man is facing up to 25 years in prison after being charged with the first-degree murder of a woman who lived in Alexandria, and previously studied in Cornwall.
Brandon Smeltzer was 25-years-old when he went to a police station to give a statement about a missing woman at the Long Sault OPP detachment. Emilie Maheu, 26, disappeared on Oct. 11, 2018, and was found two days later in a Lancaster cornfield by a farmer.
