A man sought in a Spring Lake killing last month was arrested in Washington D.C. recently and returned to Harnett County on Tuesday.
James Lee Jones Jr., 38, of Spring Lake, is charged with murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, possession of a firearm by a felon, and six counts of assault with a deadly weapon with a minor present.
According to a news release from the Harnett County Sheriff's Office, Jones, also known as "Goldie" or "Jimmy," stands accused of shooting two men about 12:40 a.m. Jan. 23 in the 200 block of Connie Court in Spring Lake.
