One of the men who had been charged in a June 2020 double-homicide in Fort Dodge saw his murder charges dismissed on Monday.
Darrell L. Jones, 23, of Fort Dodge, was facing two counts of second-degree murder (a Class B felony) and one count of felon in possession of a firearm (a Class D felony) after a deadly shooting in the Pleasant Valley neighborhood on June 16, 2020.
Two Fort Dodge men, 25-year-old Jamael Cox and 47-year-old Tyrone Cunningham, were killed in a volley of bullets in the early morning hours of June 16. Two others were injured but survived: Marissa Andrews of Fort Dodge, 21, and Jayne Barton of Wesley, 30.
