Multiple pets die in morning house fire in Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Crews responded to a house fire in the 1400 block of N. Weinbach Avenue in Evansville Thursday morning.
Dispatch tells us that call came in around 5:50 a.m.
Crews say the fire started in a basement bedroom.
Officials say five people were living in the home, but they all made it out safely.
Authorities also say they had four dogs, six cats and a snake in the home. They say fire crews rescued two of the dogs. However, four cats died in the fire.
