Right now on Ana Cabrera reports, one year later israel honoring those killed a year ago today in the Hamas Terror attacks. A day that finds hostages still in captivity and their families living in limbo. This as the Middle East sits on the brichk of a wider war. Israel launching new strikes in lebanon. We are live in a region consumed by conflict. And breaking news, Hurricane And Storm surge watches in effect in florida this morning as a rapidly intensifying Hurricane Milton hits cat 4 status with Floridas Gulf Coast in its sights. Plus the race for the White House less than a month ago and both sides amping up their presence on the airwaves and on the trail. Hello on this busy Monday Morning it is 10 00 a. M. Eastern, 7 00 a. M. Pacific, im Ana Cabrera reporting from new york. Today marks one year since the October 7th attacks on israel and this morning the Middle East is a region on the brink. Commemorations held across Israel Today to mark the deadliest attack on jews since the holocaust. Hundreds of mourning families gathering at the site of the Nova Music Festival, hearing the final song played before that festival descended into chaos. [ screaming ] a wail of Pain And Grief breaking that silence at that super Nova Site and one year later israel is fighting on two fronts with no end in site. The idf issuing new Evacuation Orders for much of Northern Gaza in what appears to be a major new offensive in that area while israel to the north the israeli military is lunching new Air Strikes on beirut overnight in its assault on hezbollah and ordering new troops to join the ground forces in southern lebanon. Joining us from the region now nbcs Raf Sanchez in Tel Aviv and matt bradley in beirut. Raf, lets start in israel. How are israelis commemorating one year since that horrific attack . Reporter well, ana, this is a day of memorials as you can imagine and it began at 6 29 a. M. , one year to the minute that the Hamas Terror attack began. Some of the first victims at the Nova Music Festival site, we were there earlier and this is a vast stretch of woodlands, its about two miles from the gaza border, and it has been converted into just an enormous memorial to the roughly 350 people who were killed at that site. Their names, their faces, their stories remembered and this morning many of their Loved Ones came back to the place where their brothers, sisters, husbands, wives were killed to be together, to be in community. There was a Memorial Service which was attended by the president of israel and as you mentioned, they played the last track that festivalgoers heard on October 7th before the music stopped and the shooting started, and i can tell you, ana, while we were there we heard shooting all day. The sounds of outgoing Israeli Artillery Fire being fired into Northern Gaza, there were israeli Apache Helicopter Gun ships overhead. There are no memorial ceremonies in gaza today, this is just another day of palestinian families trying to survive as this war drags on. Some 41,000 people killed in gaza according to the hamas run Health Ministry apparently 17,000 of them children. With every passing Day Fear is growing for the fate of those 101 hostages living and dead who are still in gaza. 40 hostages were kidnapped from the Music Festival site and almost unbelievably one year later around half of them are still in Hamas Captivity in gaza and this is an open wound in israeli society. So this is really not a day of looking back on old pain, this is a day of very raw, very fresh grief in this country and in this region. Meantime, matt, new Air Strikes there in beirut. Whats the sense there on the ground when it comes to a potential wider war breaking out in the region . Reporter yeah, i mean, i can tell you, ana, there is concern about a wider war breaking out in the region but its hard for lebanese people to imagine this war getting any worse. The fact is that theyre more preoccupied with the war that is going on all around them. In fact, in just the last two minutes as raf was speaking we heard yet more thuds from right behind me, this neighborhood of dahia which has been the Focal Point of constant, daily, every couple hours or more frequently than that bombardment over the past two weeks. It was just a night or two ago when we saw what lebanese people and beirutees have been calling the most intense Bombardment Theyve seen on this city since the war began, really since the last time the israelis invaded back in 2006. Yes, hezbollah is the Cats Paw of the iranians here in lebanon, they are by far the most formidable, best organized, best equipped Fighting Force that is not a government in the middle East And Bain in the existence of israelis for generations. They are now much humbled. It is hard to see how this war to get any worse if there were some wider war between the iranians and the israelis, it would certainly involve hezbollah, but hezbollah is already very much involved. Weve seen now more than 2,000 people killed, weve just passed that number here in lebanon ever since October 8, the day after those October 7 attacks and now weve seen well more than A Million people displaced in just the past three weeks most of them or all of them civilians from the south of the country heading north to here in beirut and further Points North and weve seen the israeli attacks expand to the northern city of tripoli and even into downtown beirut. I just heard just now, i dont know if you can hear it, a very low concussion that sounded like a blast. This is just regular and weve also been hearing here in beirut and wherever you go in the city the constant low whir of drones overhead. There is always a reminder. They dont need memorials, they dont need oneyear anniversaries. That this is a war and this war is only going to expand further. Matt and raf, thank you very much for the reporting, as always, stay safe. Joining us now former Nbc NewsTel AvivBureau Chief Martin fletcher and outgoing editor in chief at the Jerusalem Post avi mayer. One year later hostages still not home, a year of war, whats the feeling there in Israel Today . Well, ana, i remember that one year ago as we were just coming to grips with the scale, the enormity of the carnage, i wrote a piece that appeared in the next Days Paper entitled this is israels 9 11. I remember 9 11, im sure you do as well. That day was horrific, it was traumatizing, i was a High School Senior in the d. C. Area, but then the day ended and we were able to start healing as a nation. The situation here in israel is different, the healing has not started because we are still in the trauma of that day. There are still 101 hostages whose fate is unknown. There are Tens Of Thousands of israelis who was displaced from their homes who have no idea whether or when they will even return. There are thousands of israeli families that have been racked by death, horrific injuries, trauma in a variety of different ways. So this is a country that is still very much in the grief of that day and we dont know exactly when it is we will be able to emerge from it. Martin, the October 7th attacks marked a significant breakdown in Security And Intelligence there in israel. Now a year later is there any reestablishment of a sense of Safety Or Security in israel . When i think obviously the attacks in lebanon against the against Hezbollah Decapitating hezbollah, weakening them dramatically obviously that gave israelis more Trust And Confidence in their intelligence services. It was a dramatic, extraordinary achievement in lebanon but really all it did was stress the complete failure of the same agencies on October 7th. So i think theres a sense that israelis feel very, very vulnerable. They are in a situation not yet an existential situation but they are under extreme threat. They understand that the Government Wasnt really there for them on October 7, nor were the military or the intelligence agencies. Now there is a sense that theyre reestablishing control in the area. Certainly the result of all of this is israelis feel very vulnerable. By the way, as do jews across the world at this extraordinary outbreak of antisemitism. I mean, its quite extraordinary to think that 1,200 israelis were murdered on that day, 240 are taken Hostage And Israel suddenly has become the pariah in the world. How did that happen . There is a great sense of vulnerability among israelis and jews everywhere, ana. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Iron Sword Monument in Jerusalem Today and said, quote, we went through a terrible massacre a year ago and we stood up as a people, as lions. Abi, the Prime Minister has faced significant criticism in the last year for failing to bring the hostages home, for the extensive loss of Human Life and the humanitarian crisis in gaza. What does victory actually look like for netanyahu . Well, i think victory at this point for the people of israel would be the return of those 101 hostages. I dont see how he can claim victory with even a single israeli still held in captivity whether alive or dead. I think that that needs to be the Number One goal. I think there is a Ground Swell of support amongst the israeli people to bring back as many of those hostages as swiftly as we possibly can. We of course also need to secure the northern border. Since October 8 hezbollah has been bombarding the northern part of the country to the point where Tens Of Thousands of israelis have fled their homes and have no idea whether they will ever see their homes again. That needs to be resolved and thats what i think you see happening in lebanon at this time. I think until theres some kind of comprehensive quiet on all Borders Kwloz how israel and the Prime Minister will be able to claim victory. Martin, this morning the idf is still attacking sites in gaza, engaged in Air And Ground assaults in lebanon. I know youve covered this meaningen for nbc for a long time. Have you ever seen it this close to a larger regional conflict . No. No, i dont think no. Absolutely not. I mean, in 1973 when egypt and syria invaded israel it was still very much a localized a localized attack. If i could just add something to what abi said that is relevant now to what you just asked me. What is the definition of success, i think what abi outlined is the shortterm definition of success definitely, get the people home, get the hostages home, get israelis back in their homes in the south and the north, but i think part of that definition of success that the israeli government is calculating now is to what extent do we go against do we continue to fight hezbollah and especially to what extent can we continue the war or escalate the war against iran . I mean, the definition the real definition of success is how do you stop this happening again . And in order to stop it happening again, israel is doing what it can in gaza, theyre beginning the way to stop it in lebanon. The real enemy for israel is iran who supports, of course, the militaries in gaza and lebanon. Longterm definition of success is to stop the threat from iran against israel. How to do that really only with american help. How to do that and i guess the question is even is it even possible. Martin and abi, thank you both so much for joining us this morning. Coming up, a former israeli hostage fought for her life in gaza. One year later shes still fighting for her husbands freedom. I will talk to her on this somber day next. Also ahead this hour, a weather onetwo punch, Hurricane Milton rapidly strengthening, poised to Hit Florida as a major hurricane. This as parts of the country are still recovering from helene. Also a last ditch media blitz, Harris And Walz hitting the airwaves with less than 30 days until the election. The Vice President s message to one republican who shamed her for not having biological children. Were back in 90 seconds. Biolo children were back in 90 seconds this is what Joint Pain looks like. When you keep moving with aleve. just 1 aleve. 12 hours of uninterrupted Joint Pain relief. Aleve. Strength to last 12 hours. Im not in perfect health but i want to stay in my home. Knowing that hes getting good nutrition, thats a huge relief for me and my dad. sings old Bean Piglet Head yes that is your name. If you saw his Piglet Head you would say the same. Toot toot. Welcome back. Of the nearly 250 people taken hostage one year ago by hamas, nearly 100 are still being held inside gaza, including at least four americans. They are the focus of rallies around the world this morning from jerusalem to washington, d. C. Nbcs Ali Vitali is with us now from a Proisrael Rally in washington. Ali, families are still fighting for these hostages to be released. What are you hearing from people there . Reporter families are still fighting for these hostages to be released, ana. We know the u. S. Government is continuing to put pressure on for a Ceasefire Deal that includes the return of those hostages. Thats certain to be part of the Conversation Today as we are here at one of the rallies that are happening around the White House and in the downtown d. C. Area. Behind me is the area where you can see people are going to start going in, they just opened the gates here about half an hour ago. The rally itself wont start for several hours, but this is just one of a few that were expecting to see this morning. This centered on the larger geopolitical conflict, supporting israel on this commemoration of what happened on 10 7, but i will spin you around here just to show what the Security Posture also looks like. Speaking to the heightened tensions that we know weve seen at these kinds of rallies, but also speaking to the fact that Secret Service is involved with this particular event because senator j. D. Vance is going to be among those who are speaking at this rally. Thats on this side of the White House. And you can see behind me just to orient you a little bit to where we are in d. C. , the White House of course just beyond that tree line. On the other side of the White House theres going to be a rally that happens with the families of those who are still held hostage. Again, all of those families advocating for the return of their Loved Ones and an end of this conflict which weve only seen continue to reach a Fever Pitch after Fever Pitch with more escalation in the region. Ali vitali, thank you. We cannot forget those hostages. We are joined by a woman who has been living this nightmare for the past year. She and her husband keith were kidnapped by hamas on October 7th. She was released after 55 days, keith is still being held hostage. Aviva, thank you for spending some time on this day with us, i cannot imagine the pain this last year has brought you. What is this day like for you . What are you feeling in this moment . Sad. I just want to cry. I just want to cry and i want to scream because the hostages have to come back. Keith is 65 years old and hes in gaza underneath the ground with hardly no oxygen. Can you think about your father being there . I dont think that anybody would want somebody that they love to be lying underneath the ground and not having a little bit of air, a little bit of sun. Im sure that he has forgotten what the moon looks like and what we look like after so many days and just trying to keep alive. Im sure that keith is just trying to keep alive and all the hostages, the girls, the boys, they are thrown on a dirty filthy mattress underneath the ground with no human rights. The six hostages that came back a month ago, the conditions were the worst conditions in earth and that is the cruelest thing. Just to leave them there. One more day is too much. They need to come back and we need to get them back alive. What do you want people to know, aviva, about what you and your family have been going through . I want to tell you that we all are screaming and fighting for all the hostages to come back, and my daughters are finished, they just want to cry all the time. My grandchildren just want to cry. When anybody says anything about keith, we all cry. And weve all had enough. Thinking about keith underneath the ground, we dont know if hes alone, we dont know anything about his conditions, and i want to tell you that while i was in gaza and they interviewed me, the Hamas Terrorists and i said to keith that i think that im going to cry while i tell my story and when they interviewed keith in April Keith was crying. He was crying. And my family saw him crying and my kids saw him crying and begging, and that is the cruelest thing on earth because we know the conditions because i was there and all i did was try to survive and there were so many minutes that i just wanted to die. I just hope that keith and the hostages are strong enough to keep themselves alive. We do, too. What do you remember about the last time you saw Each Other . The last time that we you and keith, the last time you and keith saw Each Other, what do you remember about that . I remember that minute that i said goodbye to keith and he was the saddest person on earth and i was the saddest person on earth, but i did say to keith, you be strong for me, and i will be strong for you, and i just thought that thats keeping him going, but keith was sad and i was sad. We didnt even know if we will ever, ever see Each Other again. Aviva, we can feel your love for keith, its just a beautiful thing and i know this has to be so, so hard. Im sure your love is helping him stay strong. What are your thoughts about how prime Minister Netanyahu has handled this war against hamas . Do you feel like the current strategy is the best way to get keith back home . Im against wars. Keith is against wars. I just want to beg Bibi Netanyahu to bring keith back because what hes doing to keith, letting Keith Die slowly, i think its one of the worst things a human can go through. And we know that. We know all the hostages that have died slowly. Keith is 65 years old with high Blood Pressure lying underneath the ground, starving, and i want to tell everybody that all the hostages there are lying on a filthy dirty mattress underneath the ground and just thinking are they going to be the next one to be tortured, to be starved, to be raped, to be touched, to be hitten, to be thirsty. We cannot allow ourselves to let them stay there not even one more minute. So im begging im begging Bibi Netanyahu, im begging biden, im begging sinwar, please, let our hostages free. They need to come home to their families. They have had enough. We have had enough. The whole country, everybody wants the hostages back and were doing everything we can to bring them back, but it doesnt seem like it helps. So i dont know what to do. I really dont know what to do. I do know that im going to keep my hope and im going to keep screaming. Keep hope. Because the conditions that they are in are the worst conditions any Human Being should go through. Keep that hope, aviva. We will be there with you through this. If keith were watching right now, what do you want to say to him . I want to tell him that im waiting for him and I Cant wait to see him. I think i will just jump into the Air And Scream and jump on him and just not let him go. I just want so badly for keith to come out and come home and i want him to keep hope and to keep strong and to not forget that were doing everything we can to bring him out and thats what his whole family and mostly his most country is doing to get the hostages all out. We all want that moment for you so badly. Aviva siegel, thank you for joining us. Stay strong. You are so strong, so courageous and, again, we are with you. We will be right back. Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much thank you. Thank you like a relentless weed, moderate to severe Ulcerative Colitis symptoms can keep coming back. Start to break away from uc with tremfya. This morning Hurricane And Storm surge watches are for the florida Gulf Coast with Hurricane Milton strengthening to a category 4 hurricane and poised to make landfall on wednesday night. Parts of the Gulf Coast are still recovering from Hurricane Helene. There is now an around the Clock Operation under way to clear debris and the fallen trees ahead of Milton Arrival to prepare for what could be a huge Storm Surge. Bottom line is you are potentially looking at Storm Surge that was more significant than what we saw in Hurricane Helene. A Storm Surge even greater than helene. Nbcs Michelle Grossman is tracking all of it for us. Also with us nbcs Marissa Parra is standing by in tampa Will Milton will be impacting here in the next 48 hours or so michelle, what are you seeing right now . What areas look most at ris snk. We are looking at a highimpact storm. We have just over 50 hours before it makes landfall along the West Coast of florida. Weve seen rapid intensification, 35 miles per Hour Increase in just 24 hours. This has happened a couple times. At 3 00 a. M. This was a category 1 storm, by 5 00 a. M. A category 2 storm, by 7 00 a. M. A category 3 storm and now a category 4 storm. With Err Looking at winds at 150 miles per hour, this is a very strong storm and will remain a strong storm as it makes landfall on the West Coast of florida. We have a super charged gulf, really warm, its the fuel that the storm needs and this is going to stay in place. Its also not encountering Wind Shear or anything that will knock to down. Later on today we are looking at a category 4 storm, through tuesday morning, tuesday afternoon, now we are talking about wednesday morning, still a category 4 storm. We do think it will weaken to a category 3 storm, a major hurricane, as it makes landfall on the West Coast of florida. Somewhere between Tampa And Fort myers. Again, here is the cone, this is what we pay attention to. Somewhere along the central coast, West Coast, Gulf Coast of florida between 6 00 p. M. And midnight. I do have to say that this has been slowing down a bit with some of the model runs so this may change over the next 50 plus hours, it may slow down, may be by Thursday Morning but we will nail that down for you over the next several days. This is such a rare strange track, it will move over florida and back out into the atlantic. This does not happen very often. It has happened before but only three or four times. We are looking at Rain Falling already, we looked at rain in florida all week long not necessarily due to milton but a frontal boundary is tapping into that tropical moisture. It means were saturated already. Recovery mode from helene, adding water on top of the really saturated grounds, swollen streams and rivers and we will continue over the next several days and tuesday into wednesday is where we ramp up the rainfall totals. For today we are looking at outer bands impacting portions of the yucatan peninsula, Rain Chances increasing ahead of milton, seeing that boundary as well. By Tomorrow Milton continues to strengthen as it crosses the gulf because, remember, we are looking at warm waters, increasing winds, Storm Surge and rain. With he could see a Storm Surge of up to 12 feet and 15 inches of rain as this makes landfall on wednesday, something we will watch very closely. Thats incredible. Marissa, parts of tampa and that region saw significant flooding during helene. How are they getting ready for milton . Reporter these are vulnerable communities, especially if you look further west of us, we are in tampa but we did see flooding across this area in all directions. This wasnt an area that was completely untouched. It was particularly bad in pinellas county, Barrier Islands in hillsborough county. You have a lot of vulnerable communities and unfortunately when we look at the deaths from Hurricane Helene which was just over a week ago, most of them were as a result of drowning, most of them were in those Zone A mandatory evacuation areas. Of course we dont know the specific reasons why those people did not evacuate, but this is a huge reason why the big Priority Today and tomorrow, ana, is not only communicating the mandatory evacuations that are happening up and down the Gulf Coast as we speak, we know in sarasota its Zone A and zone b. We also know under 50 counties and you a state of emergency. They are honing in on trying to communicate and wave the way for those evacuations which could see levels we havent seen since Hurricane Irma in 2017. Governor Ron Desantis and by the way in 2017 it was nearly 7 Million people who were hitting the roads. So Governor Ron Desantis said they might be opening up shoulders on the highway to make room so people can get out. This is a huge thing theyre trying to communicate for the reason youre about to hear what we heard this morning. [ no audio ] reporter and we were going to play you a little bit of what we heard this morning, instead i want to read it to you instead. This is from kevin guthrie. He said, quote, we are talking about Storm Surge values higher than the ceiling. If you are in the tampa bay area, you need to evacuate. Ana, they are stressing this. I wanted to read that for people in this area it is so important to listen because, remember, when we talk about those deaths, many of them were in Zone A mandatory evacuation and because of debris concerns, we have all kinds of debris left over from Hurricane Helene, they are working 24 7 around the clock to clear the debris, but what would normally take months they have days to do. These rescuers who were out working through the night in Hurricane Helene doing these water rescues, they said they will not be doing that again during Hurricane Milton. So this is why it is so important to use today, Use Tomorrow to leave while you still can. I sure hope those sandbags do what they need to do and everybody gets out who are in harms way. Thank you very much, Marissa Parra and Michelle Grossman. Um next on Ana Cabrera reports, what Vice President harris says about Benjamin Netanyahu as israel faces mounting international pressure over its fight in gaza. Do we have a real close ally in prime Minister Netanyahu . I think, with all due respect, the better question is do we have an important alliance between the american people and the israeli people, and the answer to that question is yes. So that was just part of Vice President harris interview on 60 minutes. That will air in full tonight. The u. S. Israel alliance, is that a critical juncture at this Oneyear Mark since the October 7th attack . The Biden Harris Administration has been pushing for a ceasefire for months, and now the growing violence in lebanon threatening to spill into a larger regional war. Joining us now is former Ambassador Mark Ginsburg who also served as a former president ial middle East Adviser and Evelyn Farkas former senior advisor to the Supreme Leader of europe. Ambassador ginsburg, first what did you make of that answer from the Vice President when asked if america has a really close ally in netanyahu . She didnt say yes. Well, thank you for having me, and let me just start by saying my prayers are with my family in israel and the family of my Nephew Eli who was killed today trying to rescue hostages at that Music Festival. Well, if you were just going to take the arc of the relationship since last October 7th to today, where the President Of The United States and his Vice President have been steadfast allies of israel, providing all the means of support necessary to help israel prosecute a war against the Terrorist Proxies of iran, the fact is that israeli prime Minister Netanyahu has had an agenda that has been inconsistent at times with the objective of ending the war, returning the hostages, because he has had a much more parochial agenda and that is to protect his position as Prime Minister and avoid a Corruption Charge and an end of his coalition. And that has run Smack Dab into the broader interests of the united states and the region. You talk about your own familys personal impact, given the loss of your nephew in all of this. Im so sorry for that loss, ambassador. Do you feel like israel is in a better place one year later . No, i dont think any israeli would say that. I dont think any friend of israel would say that, except for the fact of one thing, israel is having to wage a multifront war against proxies and the real problem here is that the united states does not have a coherent policy against the Number One adversary of the united states and israel in the region and thats iran. We may have had since 2015 a policy to deal with its nuclear ambitions, but iran has proven to be a greater Enemy And Adversary of the united states and let alone israel, Assassination Attempts here in the united states, terrorism around the world. Look, whoever becomes president , the only policy that i believe is going to end Israels Plight and Americas Channel lengths in the Middle East is to support Regime Change in iran. That doesnt mean americans going to war against iran, that means in effect disinfecting this regime of the monarchy. So iran is one thing to have to deal with that country and its capabilities militarily. Evelyn, theres also this battle internally in israel to some degree in terms of netanyahus political standing. I know you had a chance to visit parts of israel that were impacted directly on October 7th over the summer. How do you see netanyahus Standing Inside Israel right now in the last year . Has been t. Been diminished at all . I think there is deep polarization now in israel. What we heard when i was there this past summer, so its a little bit dated, but was that the the tension had diminished somewhat, meaning that the support for hard right, outright war had diminished and people were really interested, first and foremost, in a hostage swap. There was an opportunity that was missed in september when the israeli Defense Minister came out and said that hamas is not no longer an organized Military Threat the way that it was before. But as i think the good ambassador pointed out, netanyahu, prime Minister Netanyahu, has had an agenda that has not been clear, so he has not articulated a strategy, a national strategy, that demonstrates that he cares about the priorities that the israeli people hold near and dear, getting the hostages back, and then of course security. He hasnt put out a strategy for that. So it appears that he makes Decision Toss prolong the war, which frankly, you know, really benefit him personally. So i think that we do have to remember that iran is the source of the problem. These are iranian proxies, all of these proxies, whether its gaza or in the north, coming out of lebanon, hezbollah, and so iran is the source of the threat, but the government of israel right now is far right, they are not interested in a Twostate Solution and thats also a problem for the united states and for an eventual peace beyond the ceasefire. It is hard to believe its been a year since the October 7th attacks and there are still outstanding questions about the intelligence failures, the head of the attack, the immediate response during the attack. Evelyn, what are your biggest questions that remain and has israel, do you think, learned from all of that . Well, i have to tell you one of the things that was so devastating, ana, when i visited one of the kibbutz that was attacked and they are still missing some of their people who are being held in gaza and the woman who toured us around the kibbutz, which was, you know i mean, it was in ruins and there were there were there was evidence all around of the people who had been killed, she said, you know, i it took so long for the israeli military to come and to rescue us and im not convinced that there will ever be a reckoning because she has no trust right now in the israeli government. That netanyahu, that the Prime Minister specifically, will actually do a thorough investigation, which is something that the israeli governments normally do as a matter of course. So there is, as youve said earlier, also kind of a crisis internally in israel right now, a crisis of trust. Evelyn farkas, Ambassador Mark Ginsburg, i have to leave it there for now. Thank you both so much. Thank you for having me, ana. Up next, an urgent get out the Vote Blitz with early voting already under way. Election day is now less than a month away and stacks of early Vice President harris kicked off a weeklong barrage of bigname interviews sitting down for a lengthy conversation with popular Podcast Host Alex cooper, and this weekend former President Trump returned to butler, pennsylvania, the site of an apparent Assassination Attempt for a rally alongside billionaire elon musk. Nbcs aly rafa, is with us. This is a shift many were watching and waiting for after we saw growing criticism from republicans of the Harris Campaigns media strategy, and so now were seeing this blitz across the airwaves for both Vice President harris as well as her Running Mate Governor tim walz on both traditional, but also new media platforms, one of those new platforms that popular call her Daddy Podcast that you talked about where the Vice PresidentHit Back at Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee sanders for her comments a few weeks ago in which she said that harris has, quote, doesnt have anything keeping her humble because she doesnt have biological children. Listen to her. She said my kids keep me humble, unfortunately, Kamala Harris doesnt have anything keeping her humble. How did that make you feel . I dont think she understands that there are a whole lot of women out here who, one, are not aspiring to be humble. I think increasingly, you know, all of us understand that this is not the 1950s anymore. Families come in all kinds of shapes and forms and theyre family nonetheless. Ana, well see Harris And Walz in their independent 60 minutes interviews that Air Tonight as well as a senior Campaign Official the Latenight Show appearances that both will be making later this week with harris, herself appearing with hosts of The View later this week and all of this is an effort to flood the airwaves and reach out to voters beyond Harris Base given that the election is still extremely, extremely close, ana. Garrett, another part of the Vice President s interview she talked about the work planned Parenthood And Work they do besides abortion care, cancer screenings, Std Tests and beyond and almost on cue, j. D. Vance spoke about a trump administrations approach to Planned Parenthood. This comes in context. The republicans are talking about the idea of defunding planned Parenthood And J. D. Vances comments come at a time when the Trump Campaign are facing a huge Gender Gap and distrust for many female voters on this issue. When vance was asked over the weekend about the trump administrations approach to Planned Parenthood, he said this on the question of defunding Planned Parenthood. Look, our view is we dont think that taxpayers should fund lateterm abortions. That has been a consistent view of the Trump Campaign the first time around. It will remain a consistent view. Vance will continue to get pressed on this because that answer leaves some question. Is he talking purely about abortion . Is he talking about all of the other work that Planned Parenthood does . A huge chunk of planned Parenthoods Money and plurality of it comes from medicaid and comes from people using essentially federal dollars to get some of those other services. Ana, this is another time where the Trump Campaign will have to be talking about reproductive freedom and reproductive health and issues they do not want this issue to be decided on now in the races final month. Garrett, former President Trump has seemed to have ramped up his Campaign Appearances in the past few weeks and just listed all of the new interviews and other types of highprofile events that the Vice President and her campaign are doing this week. What are trumps posture going into these final weeks . Look, theyre trying to get back up to the Pace Close to what they had in 2016 at a time when he was introducing himself to the country and there was not a political problem that Donald Trump doesnt think the solution to is more Donald Trump and well see an event a day to the Finish Line and theyre something of a Cash Disadvantage to the Harris Campaign so getting that free media, that earned media that comes from having big events and small events at his own properties like hes doing tonight down in florida keep them in the game. I expect that well see a whole lot more of largescale events in butler and these more intimate events that trump can double down and use his other properties for in the next 29 days. Just a few more weeks. Garrett hake, alliie rafah, thank you for joining us. Ill see you back here tomorrow, same time, same place and catch our show around the clock on youtube and other platforms. This morning, an alarm rang out in southern israel as it did one year ago today. Mourners gathered across the country to remember the more than 1200 people killed and 251 people kidnapped one year ago. President biden released a statement that reads in part, quote, on this day of remembrance, which also falls during the holiest day of the the jewish calendar, we honor the Indomitable Spirit of the Jewish Population and mourn the victims of October 7
