I want to just to let you know i returned to butler in the aftermath of Tragedy And Heartache to deliver a simple message to the people of pennsylvania and to the people of america, our movement to make America Great again stands stronger, prouder, more united, more determined, and nearer to victory than ever before. We are going to make America Rate again and win the election. Whether you are republican, democrat, independent, conservative, or liberal, or you have no label whatsoever it makes no difference, our movement, it belongs to you, it belongs to our country. It belongs to our country, and together in just one month we are going to usher in a new Golden Age of american security, prosperity, sovereignty, and freedom for citizens of every race, religion, color, and creed. Exactly 12 weeks ago this evening on this very ground a coldblooded assassin aimed to silence me and to silence the greatest Movement Maga in the history of our country, maga three we love maga. For 16 harrowing seconds during the gunfire time stopped as this vicious monster unleashed. Evil from his snipers perch, not so far away, but by the hand of providence and the grace of god that a villain did not succeed. His goal did not come close. He did not stop our movement. He did not break out our spirit. He did not shake our unyielding results to save america from evils of poverty, hatred, and destruction, yet we are sure this evening in record numbers. This is a big crowd. This is this is a big one. Not only to mark the triumph of american spirit, but and you know that, this is really, truly in the truest Sense Spirit over evil and adversity, but also to pay tribute to some of the best and bravest we have ever known, this field is now a monument to the valor of our first responders to the resilience of our fellow citizens and to the sacrifice of a loving and devoted father a really great man, you know that. Forever afterward [ Crowd Chanting ] corey forever after, all who have visited this hallowed place will remember what happened here, and they will know of the Character And Courage that so many incredible american patriots have showed and now and they know it at a level never be seen before probably i thank the Secret Service who threw their bodies on top of mine. Without even a thought for their own lives they were on top of me so fast. They were on top of me and there was not even a moment of doubt in their minds, you watch those tapes, not even a moment of doubt. I want to thank Secret Service. They are great people. Great people. And in that moment those agents displayed a devotion to duty that cannot be described, and the did it yet again less than three weeks ago when they really did a fantastic job another attempt it was another attempt, we have an evil world. We have a very sick world. My gratitude to them is beyond measure, we also owe a tremendous debt thanks to the Secret Service counters sniper, and a local police sniper, who returned fire within seconds and stopped the shooter quickly and saved many lives. He had a lot of bullets a lot of ammunition up there with him. And its amazing when you think they did it so quickly without the knowledge of what was going on, boom. And had that not happened it would have been a very different story, it would have been intentionally many many people. I also want to express our thanks to the Butler Township Police department. Incredible people. The butler sheriffs deputies, Pennsylvania State police, and all the other lawenforcement heroes as well as Emergency Personnel and doctors, the medical teams at butler memorial hospital, Allegheny General Hospital who rushed me and some of these very badly wounded people, there were wounded a lot of a lot of badly wounded people, in particular two people, two people and i tell you they were very brave, and great people. They were big Trump Fans. And they still are. That means something. That was that was pretty amazing. You know when i got up i asked whether or not anybody was killed. I assumed that there would be a lot, because i heard the bullets over my head. They said probably three. The doctors did such an incredible job. It was one, one great gentleman. The other two have been amazing actually. They have gone through it. They have gone through a lot, and when the crisis struck they didnt really pennsylvania proud. Youve heard that expression, pennsylvania proud. Its a great place. I went to school i went to college in pennsylvania its a great place. The people are incredible. I also and i have to say after returning to the Field Tonight is one of the really Brave Americans who was hit by the Assassins Bullet u. S. Marine veteran david dutch. David a thank you, david. Thank you, david. And, david, we are thrilled to see your recovery is going well. Great doctors appear i have to go tell you. Great doctors up here. I want to think back you very much, david. Great gentleman great, great gentleman. I want to send our love to someone who could not be here, because he has just gone undergone a major surgery related to the shooting, a man who was really badly wounded like david james copenhagen. James was a wonderful man, a big Trump Fan and mr. Copenhaver is in hospital where they did additional work. He wanted to be here so badly, but hes in great shape and we appreciate it, and we are looking to his full and complete recovery. He will have a complete recovery. Thank you. Thank you very much. And of course one more hero who could not make it back here tonight, because he is no longer with us. Right . You know who that is, right . Corey, our beautiful Corey Corey is not with us tonight, and he should be. And we will miss him. He has become somewhat of a folk hero. Who is with us is his beautiful Wife And Daughters, and relatives, sister please where are you . Where are they sitting . There they are. This is a lot of people. Corey comperatore was an incredible husband and father, a devout christian, a veteran, and a proud former fire chief, very respected within the town, everybody knew him. Few men volunteered to run into fires, but corey was one of those who did. He ran into fires. This guy would do anything, brave guy, like you. And he was also a protector who put his life on the line for others, and he loved doing it, and when the sound of Gunshots Peers to be air on that July Evening corey limped into the fire One More Time threw himself on top of his Wife And Daughter as he didnt want their murder he threw himself he said he knew what was happening. He didnt want them hurt. And he was hit hard, he was hit hard, and he gave his life to shield their lives every father, husband in america hopes that if the time came we would have what corey did. Tremendous courage and discuss and he wanted to protect his family, and he did protect his family. At this time it is 6 11, 12 weeks to the minute that the shooting began. You know i just a little story that helen told me on the day that they came to the Rally Corey was really excited, because somebody gave him great seats right up front with the people from North Carolina, the ladies from North Carolina, they this is their 227th rally. I dont know whats going on with them, those Beautiful Ladies but, they always seem to have good seats. But corey had the best seat In The House. And he was telling his Wife And Family on the way over in the car, he said i am telling you, hes going to invite me up on stage, because i do that sometimes, we invite people up on the stage, and she smiled thinking it will never happen, and little did anyone realize that corey would be on the stage three months later in an almost immortal position, and thats where he is today, he is on the stage in i think in that, i think it is a truly immortal position, so, the love that he showed on that day and throughout his life is the love that sustains the entire movement, love that our families have and love of our communities and love of our country. Its a force more powerful than any hatred and malice, because even in the darkest hours it shines forth as a guide, and it guides us like nothing could. Ever guide us. It guides us really like a candle in the night. And so its love like coreys joining us to save our country thats going to heal our country and that is going to reunite our country as One Nation Under God indivisible little with Liberty And Justice for all. What our opponents have never understood is that this movement has never been about me its is been about you, its been about a lot of people millions and millions of people the biggest ever in the history of this country may be anywhere. And every day people who are the Heart And Soul of our country they love our movement, they love our country, and they know they are doing right. This is happening all the time, and we cant find out who she is because if we do our country is going to be in big trouble. Lets go really quickly Around The Horn here. We have been watching this now for about 30 minutes. Your top of mind reactions from what weve heard . Look, he started off fine he was on prompter he seemed to veer off somewhat. We heard the story of getting some billionaire into a restaurant, so he might be veering off into normal rally territory. What struck me he obviously wanted to make this a referential event, and this is a serious event that he is revisiting, but he still sort of Cant Avoid taking these little pot shots here he employed his political opponents may have been behind his Assassination Attempt, of course there is no evidence for that. So even in this kind of sitting unfortunately he is still incapable of kind of meeting the moment. David . Yeah i agree. I think it was right to recognize the loss of life of 18 who did nothing other than wring his family to a political event to participate in what is an remarkable american freedom. We can fact check when Donald Trump says maga is the greatest political movement in the country thats probably doing a disservice for breaking from the british for independence, for the fight in womens suffrage, the fight to end slavery, i think those in greater in context than the maga movement. To the point we are watching what ive always seen this movement as a cultural movement parked in a political party and when it comes to the raw politics it just strikes me spending half an hour watching Donald Trump in that moment, but this is a national leader whos never won the popular vote. This movement has never catapulted him to Majority Vote of the american people it is a Minority Movement in the country thats taken hold and you see it in the attendance tonight, and butler. This what we saw in butler a month or so ago has not turned into renewed clinical support for Donald Trump, but i think the impact tonight is in pennsylvania and the 19 electoral votes Donald Trump is fighting for. And to lean into davids point this is a Minority Movement and yet, and yet, the race is close. National polls, you look at Battleground State polls, it is close within the margin of error. Your reaction to Donald Trumps speech and your thoughts on that aspect of this campaign . It was a really strange speech, donovan. It is always odd to see his attempts to connect with people on an emotional level and have empathy for those who were harmed and lost their life, jonathan, but he fails in every single way possible, and when he goes off the prompter and attacks democrats speculating that they had something to do with what happened to him thats when he becomes the person that is so dangerous for the future of our democracy. The reason why this race is close is because it is a cultural movement, but also because this is a movement grounded in White Supremacy. This is a movement grounded in the idea that america should be one way when in this current moment our demographics are shifting to a more diverse multiracial democracy, and there are people in this country who do not want to see that future take shape, and about half the country does not participate in politics. So what we have is a split of that other half and unfortunately for us that means we have elections that are this close rate for the next 30 days i think its important for the Harriswalz Campaign to engage those who dont normally turn out, get them early, get those Vote Numbers up and continue organizing to engage the people who do not normally participate helping them understand the future of our country is on the line frankly, and we can reach the thomas of a multiracial democracy, but we have to defeat this movement grounded in White Supremacy and is scarily close to authoritarian zerlina, david, ankush, stay with me, Dasha Burns is in butler, pennsylvania. What are you hearing at the rally right now . We see on the screen he is speaking again. Reporter he is speaking again. There was a medical emergency in the audience, so he took a pause while doctors escorted someone out, and hes saying fight, fight, again. Look, jonathan, this event is so different than the last time i was here in butler, pennsylvania for so many reasons. Number one, heightened security, but more people are here, and a more somber more reflective mood here one of the people i spoke with right in the aftermath of this event of the Assassination Attempt this man, joseph man, hes a doctor who helped carry Corey Comperatores body out of the rally, he tells me he feels like the mood is very different. Hes sitting out here in the crowd. He says there is more tension as much as people who were there back in july have wanted to come back. There is a different mood, and the former president s tone and the outset of this speech really was full of Gratitude Thinking of local law enforcement, thanking them, thinking the family of Corey Comperatore and others impacted by this now really, just as you came to me, i am starting to hear the same Campaign Speech Weve heard it so many of these rallies, the same rhetoric on immigration, and talking about the biden administration and the future of this country, and so i came in wondering what was the time going to be . Every time we have expected a Tone Shift that hasnt happened with former President Trump. The former president does appear reflective and people are looking to Honor Corey and those impacted and trying to help this community feel. Its a mix right now of politics and humanity in this complicated way, and in a state where i mean this is the state that could put him over the edge, or it could put harris over the edge. Its the state to put biden over the edge. Its critical the fact this happened here in pennsylvania where the former president needs to galvanize getting people to the polls. Its important for the trump campaign. Watching the politics play out. Im watching the Human Trauma here play out, because a lot of people i spoke to were traumatized, they did go to therapy, they were spooked by loud noises for month, they couldnt do things like Play Video games. It is surreal to process all this at once. I personally, i was here that day, and watching it all play out, its its complicated. 30 days from election, three months from the day shots were fired here, in butler, pennsylvania, jonathan. Dasha burns, you know, because i told you to your face you are a phenomenal reporter, so the fact you were there back in july and were back there today doing your job bring this story is a testament to you and your dedication to our profession. Obviously trump has to respond, he will get the opportunity at some point, so we only have one side, but i thought it was a meticulous filing. I thought they did a good job for sizing as trump was engaging in alleged misconduct trying to strongarm State Officials or organize alternate electors trying to strongarm pence he wasnt pursuing any particular objective other than the executive branch. No country in the world would accept such an attack on its citizens and towns, and neither will the state of israel. Israel has both the duty and the right to defend itself and to protect itself from such attacks, and that is what we are going to do. Reporter yeah, jonathan, our team has been hearing over two dozen huge explosions in the neighborhood behind me this is a shiite muslim Town Israeli over three weeks this whole region is fired about 200 ballistic missiles at israel. Here in lebanon we have been seeing a constant war that has been going on over the skies and over the ground, this is where Hassan Nassralah was killed and according to the israelis about 20 other senior officials within hezbollah now sends then we have seen the israelis going methodically and killing leaders of hezbollah and other militant groups not just here, but in Central Beirut they fired their first attacks against Central Beirut. They are continuous lasts now, but they are expanding their footprint and attacking all these leaders throughout the country up and down lebanon as part of this expanding front, jonathan. Any word on what that retaliation might look like from israel against iran . Reporter that is the milliondollar question. That retaliation will set the Tone And Tempo for what comes next whether it will be a large retaliation that will invite another iranian response or whether or not it will be a Face Saving Climb that will allowed on both sides to step back from the brink and possibly entangle the entire region into a war that would encompass probably not just Israel And Iran but possibly even the united states and some other countries here.
