Instead, after this they delivered that nose, Donald Trump looked up at him and said, so what. He said so what. Donald trump was willing to sacrifice our capital, to allow Law Enforcement officers to be beaten and brutalized in his name, and to violate the law and the constitution in order to seize power for himself. I dont care if you are a Democrat Or Republican or an independent. That is depravity, and we must never become numb to it. Any person who would do these things can never be trusted with power again. We must defeat Donald Trump on november 5th. We have never seen anything like January 6th until Donald Trump, and we have never seen anything like Liz Cheney campaigning against the republican candidate for president , trying to elect a democrat, until Donald Trump. Nowhere in our political history that a large collection of prominent Party Members turned against the Partys Nominee for president The Weight Liz Cheney and so many other prominent republicans, including her father, have turned against Donald Trump. Liz cheney knew what she could lose in congress by opposing Donald Trumps attack on the capital and joining an investigation to expose the truth of what Donald Trump did leading up to January 6. First, she lost her Leadership Position in the house of representatives then she lost her Reelection Campaign in wyoming to a wildly underqualified candidate who was then welcomed into the trump worshipers in the republican house of representatives. Liz cheney has never said that it was a hard choice. She has never said that choosing between her country and Donald Trump was a difficult choice or required heroism of any kind. When our time of testing came, in fact, it was an easy test for Liz Cheney. And, the shock is not that lifelong republican Liz Cheney passed that test. I know the vast majority of us regardless regardless of your political party, agree we must hold Sacred Americas Fundamental Principles from the Rule Of Law to free and fair elections to the peaceful transfer of power. And, if you share that view, no matter your political party, there is a place for you with us and in this campaign because those principles, i know, unite us across party lines and in this election, i take seriously my pledge to be a president for all americans. The President Of The United States must not look at our country as an instrument for their own ambitions. Our nation is not some spoilt to be won. On the other hand, you have Donald Trump, who praises dictators, loves Vladimir Putin inexplicably, and Xi Jinping he calls a Great Leader and who has denigrated our allies and said to nato that as far as he is concerned, putin can do what the hell he wants with nato countries. He would Sellout Ukraine in a heartbeat, as Vice President Harris Sat on the clip you just showed. During the debate, Donald Trump refused to say that he wanted ukraine to win. He does not want ukraine to win. He wants russia to win, his pal, Vladimir Putin, and nothing could be more dangerous on antithetical to our national Security Interest because if anybody thinks that if Vladimir Putin wins in ukraine hes going to stop there not keep going into europe as he has done in georgia, crimea, and now ukraine, theyre out of their minds and if anybody thinks that Xi Jinping in china will take from the experience with ukraine and if putin can get away with ukraine then pain can get away with taiwan and then it is really a crisis of global proportions. I want to listen to the way the Vice President fainted at the debate because she expanded the area of concern there from not just ukraine, but neighboring poland, and what that could mean to american voters. Lets listen to that. Putins agenda is not just about ukraine. Understand why the European Allies and our nato allies are so thankful that you are no longer president , and that we understand the importance of the greatest Military Alliance the world has ever known, which is nato, and what we have done to preserve the ability of zelenskyy and the ukrainians to fight for their independence. Otherwise, putin would be sitting in cave with his eyes on the rest of europe, starting with poland, and why dont you tell the 800,000 Polish Americans right here in pennsylvania how quickly you would give up for the sake of favor and what you think is a friendship with what is known to be a dictator it would eat you for lunch. I know when you served as ambassador to the United Nations were in constant contact with the representatives of these other countries, especially in that region. What does it mean to the other countries in that region close to ukraine as ukraine fights for its survival . The Eastern European countries, the baltics, Poland And Everybody on that Front Line of russia know that this is existential for them, as well. Putin has been very clear he hates nato. He hates the fact that we have the strongest alliance the world has ever seen and his ambition is to break nato and sees Nato Territory and he has been plain about that. The reason why one of the many reasons why he was so intent on invading ukraine is because he feared that ukraine might one Day Wish to join nato and have the opportunity to do so as well is to join the european union. And so we need to understand that putin has no intention of stopping in Eastern Ukraine unless he is forced to stop, which is why there is such unity within nato and why the countries of Eastern Europe in particular and the peoples of Eastern Europe. Many of them here in the united states understand that this is really an existential choice. Donald trump is out for himself. He is easily flattered and manipulated by dictators, and that is why, lawrence, we all have to remember that as Vice President , two of his national Security Advisers, his defense secretaries, and the Secretary Of State have all set in One Way or another that he is unfit to lead this country, that he is not capable of serving the national interest, but he is out for his own personal interest. You were part of a group of National Security Professionals who have served in both democratic and republican administrations who signed on to a letter addressed to the american people about why Donald Trump should not be president. This is a letter unlike anything weve ever seen before in our political history. There has been so much overlap in fact since World War ii between the parties on Foreign Policy. There was never a situation in which Foreign Policy or national security efforts would ever feel themselves forced to come out and publicly oppose a republican candidate for president until Donald Trump. What was it like being part of that group coming together, something that certainly back when you are serving at the u. N. In the obama administration, would not have been something you would ever seen coming . Lawrence, look, you know, there is a saying that back in the day until recently, Foreign Policy and national security were played between the 40 Yard Line [ inaudible ] that was a responsible, rational center. There were differences of emphasis in Tone And Approach on some things but the fundamentals of national security, that americans need to be strong, that we need to stand with our allies and you know, we have to mean what we say, these are very fundamental things that never used to be under serious question, and along comes Donald Trump, who really is like the Neville Chamberlain of the Republican Party. He is an appeaser. He is a surrender and that is what we are seeing in his approach to ukraine and frankly, you know, weve seen him fall to blandishments from Xi Jinping and many others when it was convenient for him and served his personal interest, so that is why more than 700 democrats, republicans and independents and very senior national security leaders came together to oppose Donald Trump , and support Kamala Harris and it is important to say it was also to support Kamala Harris. They believe that she has the temperament and the intellect and the vision and the experience to be on day one, an effective and strong commander inchief. My opponent called that amendment stupid, so we could not have a sharper contrast at the president ial level, or in a race like my own for united states senate. I remember that amendment very well. That provision has been very important to my family and to millions of families in america, and that is exactly the kind of thing that would disappear if republicans got control of this process.
