Now, his rhetoric is getting more and more extreme because he wants to make sure that people understand that these people can never be real americans. They can never be you. It is always us versus them. That the division is continuing to grow and it will continue to grow, because that is the only way he can appeal to his white, as no base. Ruth, you are on my main indicator, whether democracy is slipping toward authoritarianism or not, but you studied these things, and there are actual indicators. There are actual measures that are used that you have in your brain, but the rest of us dont necessarily know. Where is the u. S. . When we worry about the fact that the u. S. Could slip down this road to authoritarianism, and we have seen this in democracies, including the u. N. , turkey, in hungry, where is the u. S. . Is there actually a danger that is measurable . Well, we are very unusual, because we only have the two parties, and it is a crisis. When you only have two parties, and one party has become effectively an autocratic party, dependent on propaganda, on corruption, on the threatened reality of violence, that is far greater danger than a multipart system. That is the other party, they dont have anywhere to go. So now, we have an interesting moment where there is the phenomena of republicans for terrace. The reason it is so dangerous for us is that it is escalating. That is the subject of this segment. It is no longer about just polarization, which is, me versus you, but we agree to disagree. It is now this active attempt to get people into a state of existential dread. So, it is me or you, and only One Of Us will survive the encounter. So, you are going to get disease. The thing that makes this so great from the beginning, the degree in which lev leaves into the fact that he is a mop like character, and in some cases, actual mobsters were embedded into the Trump Administration, which makes you wonder, the conclusion ive come to after watching this, who is really calling the shots ring the Trump Administration, during this time that you cover . That is a part of a worrying thing. That is why it is not just a character flaw, it is a national Security Problem when you have got criminals involved in the u. S. Government. When the crooks take over the White House, that is not as bad for the american people, it is really bad for the crooks. It means anybody that is involved with people they should not be involved with, anyone involved in crimes also becomes susceptible to blackmail, to extortion, to doing all sorts of things that could pervert their work in what is supposed to be the public service. Those sorts of characters should not have access to the american president , to the council of the american president , to the state department, to getting an ambassador fired who they wanted out of the way because she was anticorruption. The census, according to our laws is supposed to count every person in this country, not every homeowner, not every voter, not every citizen, it is supposed to count, as accurately as possible, every Human Being who resides in this country. And as directed by the constitution, the census helps to determine how congressional seats are allocated, how Congressional District maps are drone, how federal resources are distributed. And though trumps attempt to include the Citizenship Question on the 2020 census ultimately failed, the effort to overhaul the Census Bureau is far from over. Project 2025, the heritage Foundations Blueprint for the next conservative administration , has laid out detailed plans to exert strong, political influence over the Census Bureau. Heres how the section over the Census Bureau begins on page 679. Strong political leadership is needed to increase efficiency and align the Bureaus Mission with conservative principles, already Alarm Bells should be going off.
