He has a history, open history of Rank Antisemitism along with a bunch of other bigoted statements. He has made grotesque anti abortion ads of accusing women not being responsible enough to keep the score down. Last week he had to deny report he was a five nights a Week Attendee of multiple pornography shops. All that had been a known quantity. Trump bitten his party and yet this afternoon, we start to hear this chatter that republicans including members of the Trump Campaign had decided it was time for robinson to go. Then we learned why. Around 3 30 p. M. cnn dropped a report that robertson made a series of inflammatory comments on a Pornography Website Message board more than a decade ago in which he referred to himself as a, quote, Black Nazi and expressed support for reinstating slavery. The extensive and thorough report by the excellent reporters at cnn provides overwhelming evidence that Mark Robinson was indeed the one making the comments on the website Nude Africa including the fact he signed up for an account using his actual name, Mark Robinson. He used the same username and an Email Address for other accounts on multiple other websites and the report he says he wants to own slaves and calls himself a nazi. Wrote he preferred the former leader of Adolph Hitler during the administration of Barack Obama. I would take hitler over any of the expletives in washington right now. Also Robinson Graphically described his own Sexual Arousal as an adult from the memory of secretly peeping on women and gym showers when he was 14. Memories he still fantasizes about. Robinson said he enjoyed watching transgender pornography, archived messages found to which he referred to himself as a, quote, perv. Of course, its our position strongly here on this program, Consenting Adults in every country can produce or consume any pornography should they want to. Transgender pornography obviously included. It does present a stark contrast with What Robinson says now about lgbtq folks. There is no Reason Anybody anywhere in america transgender, homosexuality, and at that felt. Yes i called it filled. The email listed on the account is an email you use and have used elsewhere on the internet including with your photo. You have used that name on multiple Social Media accounts including twitter and black planet and you to. How can you deny with these matching details that this is you . Im not going to get into the minutia of how somebody manufactured these tabloid lies. We should note the report uncovered very specific language used in the post at issue. Also according to the report, robinson spoke admirably about the implying he would join if they allowed black members. Made disparaging remarks about Martin Luther King jr. He got up and is doing fantastically well in North Carolina, and i think is going to be the next governor of North Carolina. Mark robinson. You know my background as a prosecutor, and i was the elected Attorney Jennifer two terms. This is not a theoretical issue for me. It is something i have worked on. I have prosecuted organizations for the trafficking of guns, drugs, and human beings. I take very seriously the importance of having a secure border and ensuring the safety of the american people. Sadly, where we are now can be traced most recently back to the fact that when the united states congress, Members Of Congress, the most conservative republicans, came up with a Border Security Bill and heres what that Bill Wouldve done. It wouldve put 1500 more Border Agents at the border. Let me tell you those entrance are working around the clock and it giving them Support And Relief which is probably why the Border Agents endorse the bill. It wouldve allowed us to stem the flow of fentanyl, and am looking at people from all over the country, so i dont need to tell the folks watching what fentanyl has done to families, two kids in our country and the need to take seriously stemming the flow coming into the country and addressing the extraordinary and tragic issue in terms of its effect. The Bill Wouldve allowed us to have more resources to prosecute transnational criminal organizations. It would have been part of the solution. Donald trump called up those folks and said, dont put that bill on the floor for a vote. He block the bill. He would prefer to run on a problem instead of fixing a problem. [ applause ] he has put his political, personal political security before border security. Understand even in the intervening months with the Bill Wouldve done to give support to folks who care about this issue. This, again, gets to the point about what is leadership really look like . Is it about you or the people . Is it about running on problems or Fixing Problems . My work and my career has always been about saying, lets fix problems. Lets address the needs because its within our capacity to do that. So to answer his question, now that the bill has gone, will you reintroduce that . Absolutely. When i am elected president , i will make sure the bill gets to my desk and i will sign it into law. A majority of Young Americans 18 to 34 said the Cost Of Living is their top issue ahead of the election. Lets take a look. Its extremely expensive right now. I dont understand how people afford life right now. The high Cost Of Living is their top concern this election. 435 to last until The End of the month. What did you want to say to the Vice President . Madam Vice President , we are, like many Young Americans, experiencing a high Cost Of Living. We ended up giving up our apartment and moving in with our parents who were gracious to take us in for over a year so we could save money and ultimately buy a home because thats what we thought The American Dream was. To get married and buy a home and have a baby and now here we are and our mortgages higher than what we thought it would be. My sister and our Brotherin Law are living with us so they can hopefully one day do the same and while its beneficial for us because they help pay off some of our mortgage and its beneficial for them so they can save on rent. We would love to know what your plan is to help lower the Cost Of Living . Yeah, first of all, thank you for being here. Yours is a story i hear around the country as i travel. In terms of both rightly having the right to have aspirations and dreams and ambitions for your family, and working hard and finding that The American Dream for this generation and so many recently far more elusive than it has been. We need to deal with that. There are number of ways. One is bringing down the cost of everyday necessities including groceries. Thats why i am taking on price gouging. Which is when most companies and corporations are good but for the bad ones, they take advantage of people, especially during a pandemic or extreme weather and they check up prices and there needs to be a consequence for that. I will take a price gouging. Its dealing with what we need to do around homeownership. As someone mentioned during the film, i grew up a child of a mother who worked very hard. She raised me and my sister, and she saved up and by the time i was a teenager she was able to buy a home. We grew up actually for a long time in an apartment on top of the Childcare Center that was owned by the woman who called her second mother because she helped our mother raise us and she was a small Business Owner. I bring this together to tell you the way i think about it is, and people work hard and have a dream of buying a home, we should give you the opportunity to do that which is part of my plan is for first time homeowners, buyers, to have a 25,000 down Payment Assistance to buy your first home. People need to be able to get their foot in the door, and then you do the hard work. Part of my plan is what we need to do to support Small Businesses. My second mother was a small Business Owner and i love Small Businesses and small Business Owners. They are not only leaders but community leaders. They mentor they hire locally. We have so many entrepreneurs in our country with great ideas, incredible work ethic, but not access to capitol because not everybody like my opponent was handed 400 Million on a Silver Plate and then filed bankruptcy six times on. Part of my plan is to give startup Small Businesses a 50,000 Tax Deduction to start a Small Business. Right now its 5000. Nobody can start a Small Business with 5000. That is a teeny tiny business. Part of my plan is also to extend and expand the child Tax Credit to 6000 so you can in the first year of your Childs Life have the resources available to buy a Crib And Car seat and clothes for your baby. Thats important time in their development, and you should not have to worry how you will take care their basic needs. All of this and more is what i plan to build and i call it an opportunity economy. Its about creating opportunities knowing so many people have the ambition, have the aspiration and working hard, but they need opportunity to reach their goals and dreams. I am proposing this federal subsidy for firsttime homebuyers for a down payment. Expansion of the child Tax Credit and going after price gouging, et cetera. It seems this is working but i wonder if you think it is. Well, i know its working because we see the confidence and we see how Kamala Harris is leaning into these issues that seem to be the Big Albatross Issues for the democratic campaign. First Joe Biden and now harris. We reflected in the polling. The gap has shown that where trump had a clear advantage on these two issues, economy and immigration, you see Kamala Harris and in some cases surpassing trump in terms of trust. Who do you trust to do a better job . And her sense of confidence. She is not regarding these as problem issues for the democrats. She is saying ive got plans. I have solutions and when you look at what the other side has done, all theyve done is demagogue and apply the political rhetoric. I think it is why she is growing in the polls. I think its why shes been able to bring back a lot of the wondering voters that may be up and wanting to go democrat but had issues, especially young voters and maybe members of the old obama coalition, they are coming back because of her concrete answers and solutions on issues like the economy and especially immigration. Thats the neat trick she has pulled off. She has turned immigration into a strength for the Harris Walz Ticket and made it an albatross for the trump vance ticket. Partially aided on that Donald Trump so flagrantly and killing the border bill. Alexa , you cover politics and been on the campaign trail. What is striking me if you compare the two candidates, Harris Wasnt doing enough policy but those first 15 minutes, how she was in the debate and in the dnc, its very legible politics. Theres a problem called ask, whats your solution . My solution are these proposals which i would sign. Donald trump is a weird combination when asked these questions of dilution and tangents. He is all over the place then he comes back like, we will drill more. Drill for cheerios . We will deport a bunch of people and that will make your Cheerios Cost less . I guess its pretty striking the difference between what is concrete, legible politics. The way other politicians use to do. Romney kind of ran like that compared to trump. Yeah. Went trump was running we were asking Each Other, ourselves, voters, republicans, if trump were to become president , Woody Reshape the Republican Party by way of Policy And Governing . Or by way of settling personal scores. We have seen it is the latter. He has never cared too much about policy are using it to define his legacy. If i remember i think build The Wall was a Mnemonic Device he wrote down one of the debates and it became his main thing because hes not intellectually serious or honest about any of these issues. There is a little bit of sexism behind this idea that Kamala Harris doesnt have enough policy or she needs to give more thorough answers and things that have changed from the past. She is giving clear answers that are not just in contrast to Trumps Lack of a plan for anything, but she is showing to people and defining her candidacy on her own which republicans have spent millions of dollars trying to do with no success. One of the things i find, this is about the question about the political discourse and how voters understand. Its a little frustrating to me , Peoples Frustration with what has been a lot of inflation that we have not experienced is 100 totally rational. Prices really did go up. Also, totally accents a political issue. The battle against that has been waged Monetary Policy and is you dont want deflation. The only president who had that was hubert humphrey. Its a little to explain that. Theres this Problem And Solution when you talk about this issue. There are a few things. I think the brilliance of this format, if i can take a Step Back, after the debate, everyone thought she did really well and the polls saying voters still wanted to know more about her. Presumably, that was about policy. The specific kinds of things you are talking about. The complicated, boring things that dont really excite voters but its what people need more of. The brilliance of what we saw this evening and whats going on this evening is Oprah Winfrey for nearly four decades now has been introducing people to america. People come away from her show, they come away from her interviews and these experiences feeling like they know the person that she has been talking to. We were talking about the fact they made the set look like a living room. Thats an oprah stable and the things that went into that dynamic. If you ask a question about the economy or ask a question about these things, we are not going to do the dry policy recitation. We will talk to two people who seem familiar and about to start their family, young folks early in their lives, and we will talk how i can address that and not talking about deflation. I totally agree. I said this, oprah is a greatest ever. Shes like michael jordan. She is incredible. The best broadcaster. Lets see what the goat and the Vice President are up to. Propublica. Listen to her story. Two years ago, 28yearold amber thurman, a medical assistant and single mother to a sixyearold boy found out she was pregnant. Amber had just secured her own apartment and was thinking about going to nursing school. She made the decision to terminate her pregnancy. A strict Abortion Ban had taken place in her Home State of georgia which caused Amber To Travel to North Carolina for the procedure. Traffic meder miss the appointment so the clinic gave her medication what are known as abortion pills. Went back home, she experience profuse bleeding, vomiting, severe pain. She eventually passed out and her boyfriend called for an ambulance. At the Georgia Hospital her deteriorated quickly and it was discovered her body had not expelled all the fetal tissue and an infection was spreading. The official Georgia State medical Expert Analysis of the case said Amber Shouldve received a life staving D And C but doctors waited 20 hours before deciding to take her to surgery. Her Blood Pressure had taken a dive, her organs had started failing. In the operating room, her heart stopped. On the way to surgery, ambers last words to her mother were, promise me youll take care of my son. Ambers mother and older Sister Cj are here. They wanted to be here tonight. To speak out for the first time. What do you want us to know about Ambers Story . Initially, i did not want the public to know my pain. I wanted to go through it in silence. But, i realized that it was selfish. I want you all to know amber was not a statistic. She was loved by a family, a strong family, and we wouldve done whatever to get our baby the help that she needed. When propublica came to my home, i pushed them away. No. No. No. But she kept, she was persistent. She said it was something that you needed to know. You have to hear me. Women around the world, people around the world need to know that this was preventable. Two years later, after speaking with my daughters because i lost strength, i lost hope, you are looking at a mother that is broken. The worst pain ever that im older, that a parent could ever feel. Her father and myself and the family you are looking at. We appreciate so deeply your being here. We are watching you and hear that tape in those words, we know how retraumatizing that is and the strength it takes for you to be here to tell your story and we deeply appreciate it. I have to ask, is her sisters, how are you coping . And what does knowing that this couldve been prevented, ho does that fit with you . How do you cope with that . It was heartbreaking. That was my baby sister. I loved my baby sister. I am beyond hurt. Disappointed. I feel guilty. I wish i couldve helped her because she was suffering. We had no idea, we trusted them to take care of her. They just let her die because of some stupid Abortion Ban. They treated her like she was another number. They didnt care for her. She was their daughter or their granddaughter, you know. She is not here. She will never come back. What do you want to say . I want to say it is disheartening that my sister was allowed to suffer for 20 hours. She suffered. There was nothing we could do to help her. We trusted the Health Care professionals to do their job and save her. They failed her. I think the most powerful thing you said is her daughter is not a statistic. She had a life. She was loved by her sisters. Loved by her family. Loved by those who knew her. She is not just a statistic and we are happy to speak her Name Tonight in this room, talking about what this country needs in terms of reproductive rights and freedoms. What you want to say, madam Vice President . I am just so sorry. The courage the you all have shown is extraordinary because also you just learned how it is she died. They just recently learned. Amber Meme Mom shared with me the word over and over again in her mind is preventable. Preventable. That word keeps coming to her. And, the story is a story that is sadly not the only story of what has been happening since these bans have taken place. You know, just a Step Back in terms of how we got there, the former president just three members of the u. S. Supreme court with the intention they would overdo the protections of roe v. Wade. They did as he intended and state after state including yours, these Abortion Bans have been passed that criminalize Health Care providers and a couple of States Prison for life, oprah. Prison for a Doctor Or Nurse who provide Health Care and so, it seems very apparent. Even with the Mothers Life is in danger. Here is the problem with that. We are watching a pretty remarkable Town Hall happening and Kamala Harris speaking with Oprah Winfrey. She just heard from a family whose daughter died after leaving georgia which had the Abortion Ban and ended up in North Carolina. You heard some of the details. It was a brutal story reported by propublica. A woman who should be here with her son and who is not. We have gotten a few different issues throughout the hour. I do think there is a bit of a sense of the Harris Campaign park that they dont need to sit down with the people who went out of their way to misunderstand her. I think you are right about that but having her talk to people and take questions, she can talk on her feet which is good at is we have seen.
