I wish i could have helped her. She was suffering and we had no idea. We trusted them to take care of her, you know, and they just let her die because of some stupid Abortion Band. They treated her like she was just another number. They did not care for her as if she was their daughter or their granddaughter, you know, when she is not here. She will never come back. I want to say that it is very disheartening that my sister was allowed to suffer for 20 hours. She suffered. There was nothing that we could do to help her. My opponent would overturn it in on issues like how we would approach protecting programs like Social Security and medicare, i was raised by my grandparents. I saw the importance and value of those programs up close at a younger age than most. My opponent supports a 4 Trillion Tax Plan that disproportionately helps with wealthy people like himself, big corporations and jeopardizes the solvency and the longevity of Social Security and medicare, so we cannot have a bigger contrast On The Issues in this race. I would love to start with your reaction to what we saw tonight in michigan, particularly when talking about the case of amber thurman. I watched the watch that. My Heart Breaks. My Heart Breaks because i am a mother. I am a georgian. I represent the State Of Georgia. I was in the State Senate when this bill was passed, and we warned republicans. We want our governor of the impact of these Abortion Bans before Donald Trump even overturned roe v. Wade so i am mad because this was preventable. It was preventable because our governor knew the consequences. We had experts and doctors who told him what would happen and he signed this bill into law anyway and Donald Trump when he brags about overturning roe v. Wade, this is what hes bragging about so i blame them for these preventable deaths of mothers in my state that we couldve avoided and we dont know how many more stories like this will come about because we are just catching up to the cases from two years ago for georgia already leads the nation in maternal mortality, especially when it comes to black women and so this is devastating and as a leader in this country, have an obligation to speak up about it and to hold those accountable who made this possible in the first place. There is new polling showing that Vice President harris and Donald Trump are in a statistical tie in georgia. How are you feeling about the state of the race in georgia . Even with me being about this happening, i know i have to be a joyful warrior like a candidate for president. We understand that we have options on the ballot. There is a clear contrast in Kamala Harris will be a president for all the people and we know this issue around Abortion Access transcends partisanship. It transcends racial lines and that is exactly what her presidency would be, a president for all the people and so i am excited about her returning to georgia for the 20th time or 20 times since shes been Vice President and I Cant wait to get back home and get on the Campaign Trail because in Battleground Georgia where we only won by 11,780 votes, we know that every vote counts. Talk about crossing racial lines, watching that townhall, you saw men, women, black, white all reacting to the stores of the two Women In Georgia who lost their lives preventively. I think when she shows up tomorrow, that goes a long way because she is coming right into Battleground Georgia to have conversations directly with the voters who are experiencing this. These are people we know the communities these two ladies lived in. We understand this is not just a rural georgia issue. We already half of our counties in the State Of Georgia dont even have an Ob Gyn and that she is coming to our state and talking directly to the voters that are impacted by Trumps Abortion bans and so that goes a long way in showing how important georgia is in her pathway to victory and we are going to do our part. Let me get you on one more thing before we have to go. Georgia election officials are sounding the alarm about republican efforts to change the rules. Theyve been changing the rules for the last several weeks but how concerned are you about that interference and the possibility that it could have a direct and noticeable impact on the president ial election in your state . Not just the last several weeks. When we ran in 2020 they change the rules for our runoffs. When we won with our two majority making senators they change the rules. Donald trump tried to overturn the will of the voters in georgia and now he has his pics on the State Board of elections were once again trying to change the rules. We are doing everything in our power to push back against this. We have a 32 prodemocracy or antidemocracy majority on the State Board of elections. I only get one appointment is the chairwoman of the democratic party of georgia but we are doing everything we can with our legal team that we are dispersing all across the state when all 159 counties to ensure that when people show up to cast their ballots, those votes will be counted and certified. Tonight, North Carolinas Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson is vowing to stay in the race following a Bombshell Report from cnn. It says Robinson Made Dozens of racist and sexually graphic comments on up Porn Form between 2008 and 2012. The Cnn Report that Nbc News has not independently verified said robinson quote, referred to himself as a black nazi. In one message, verified by cnn, Mark Robinson wrote, slavery is not bad. Some people need to be slaves. I wish they would bring it back. I would certainly buy a few. Cnn also reports many of robinsons comments were gratuitously sexual and lewd in nature. He reportedly describes himself as a quote, perv, and describes peeping on women in public showers jim showers. Ahead of the story breaking today, robinson posted a video denying the allegations and accusing the campaign of josh stein, his opponent in the race for North Carolinas governor, of leaking the story. Let me reassure you the things you will see in that story, those are not the words of Mark Robinson. You know my words. You know my character and you know that i have been completely transparent in this race than before. Clarence thomas once claimed he was the victim of Hightech Lynching. It looks like Mark Robinson is, too, by a man that refuses to debate about the real issues that affect you. Instead they want to focus on solutions tabloid lies. We are staying in this race. The report says quote, in his profile, many soldier listed his full name as Mark Robinson and disclosed a private Email Address robinson used elsewhere online. In 2012, a user responded to a comment by calling him mark. The comments were made under the Username Robinson used frequently online. Minisoldr mentioned been married for 18 years which corresponds with Robinsons Marriage to Yolanda Hill in 1990. In 2011 he wrote he had been married 21 years. Minisoldr wrote in a 2011 post that he lived in greensboro, North Carolina, the same town where robinson lived at the time, and currently lives. I went through all that because are robinsons denials going to be enough . No, but i dont necessarily think that is the strategy that he and the republican party are going for. We know supporters of Donald Trump cannot be moved and so with him at the top of the ticket there hoping that his coattails will be strong enough to withstand this salacious scandal that has hit North Carolina. Dont forget, though, that Tomorrow Absentee ballots go out to Military Personnel so at some point in time, even if he removes himself from the race, his name will be on the ballot. They will have to sort of figured that out and that opens up claims for republicans if they dont win the race and seo, its fraud and democrats have taken it from us if the democratic side wins the race so they are teeing that up and we know that is what republicans, especially Donald Trump, have been doing this entire Campaign Season but sadly again it is the citizens of North Carolina who lives out. The more time we spend talking about these past practices, as important as they may be since this is a man of the party trying to systematically take Rights And Freedoms away from individuals while they do things in the dark, it still takes the issue off of what is best for north carolinians, whats best for their economic interest, whats best for the Rights And Freedoms as they try to systematically take away civil rights and civil liberties from all north carolinians under the skies of we have some sort of moral superiority, which we have seen time and time again, republicans fall short. And robinsons reaction video, he likens himself, and im sure you have heard this in your eyebrows are hunched up like mine, to conservative supreme Court Justice Clarence installments thomas, saying he is quote, the victim of a Hightech Lynching. Will that work with his high tech Conservative Base . Part of it might work with his Conservative Base because weve seen them just turn into sycophants but what makes me so angry, quite honestly, is that there is no such thing as a Hightech Lynching. For those of us who know the history of lynching in this country, what is happened to black men, how they were brutalized and strung up on trees and families and communities came as though it was a public event this is nowhere near what is happened to him. He has brought this upon himself. Listen, i think we are getting some wild data. The campaign got what it wanted out of the debate. They wanted this contract between her strong, steady leadership and his Extremism And Ugliness and change the election. We see she has jake gained a few points. We have states outside of the battleground for she is pulling even better and so the election has shifted. This thing is slipping away from trump and we should feel good. We have a lot of work to do but the thing im really focused on right now is some of the polling you showed. We have very good polling in pennsylvania this week. Also the last six independent polls in North Carolina, she is either tied or had. Republicans have no map unless they win both of those states in both of those are trending in the wrong direction for them. You say this election is slipping away from trump. I want to raise a concern of mine, and that is, i worried about a Bradley Effect and for the youngsters who are watching, the Bradley Effect refers to Tom Bradley when he was running for mayor of Los Angeles. The polls this was in the late 70s or early 80s. A long time ago, and before Election Day he was leading in the polls. He was africanamerican, wouldve been the first African American mayor of Los Angeles and on Election Day he lost and what we discovered was, people said nice things and said they would support them to pollsters but then got in the Voting Booth and did the opposite. Is there a concern of a Bradley Effect facing Vice President harris . I think the concern is what happened in 2016 and 2020 where there is a perception that trump over performed expectations and i think the campaign is being very mindful of this. We dont really know about whether or not this time trump will over perform in these public polls. The problem for trump and the republicans is that since dobbs they have been underperforming in public polls. Trump underperformed in 19 of the 20 primary states were he did worsen the actual vote than he did in polling, so what has been happening with the republican party since dobbs, as what happened with fascist parties in europe and france is that when people have been going to vote, we have the opposite of the Bradley Effect or maybe the Bradley Effect in a different way, which is that republicans and independents have been not wanting to vote for extremist and so you saw in 2022 and elections ever since dobbs we have continually over performed and while they have underperformed and i think the explanation for that is the inverse of what you said which is that republican and independent voters just dont want to pull the lever for the extremist and have been underperforming public polls. We are going to find out on Election Day but i think it is far more likely in my view that if this election performs the way all these other elections have been performing we actually begin to end up over performing public expectations.
