He thinks that is where he can excite the base and the low propensity voters. The white voters who feel like they have lost their country. Those who have kind of opted out of the process. What hes going to do is appeal to politics of Grievance And Hate and fear. When it comes to the question of immigration, because he, whenever he brings up immigration, Vice President Kamala Harris can counter with you killed the most conservative Immigration Bill we have had in generations. Insurance models are built on the assumption of relative stability an assumption that for much of Modern Human Civilization has in fact been a safe bet. Insurance is boring, the culture of risks when away over the last 50 or 60 years for the culture of maximization and going long. So risk got pushed into a subculture not just of finance but society. We outsourced risk but relied on it as a foundation. Once you start pulling away the foundation, you will discover it in every other part of society. You are right it is boring but you need it you by your house with a mortgage and the bank insists you have a mortgage because the bank does not want to take on the risk that your house might disappear. You have written about the Fact Stability in terms of the climate has gone. What do we do . What is the path forward and i say homeowners but as i mentioned, even if you are a renter you are living in someones home, somebody owns the property you live in so youre still affected. That is exactly right. These risks that used to be only owned by insurers are all of our concern. This is why we call our work climate literacy, we need awareness of the risks among lenders, brokers, homeowners, renters. And maybe most of all among governments like visible governments. I am worried about municipal financing for example. Cities that have been able to borrow money for infrastructure, their infrastructure is now outdated. Lets talk the other systems besides insurance that rely on the same assessment of risk. The Way Insurance worked was society is responsible for a range of risks and insurance is for outside that range. How is the first range embodies . Sewer systems are built for a certain range of precipitation. Electoral systems are built for a range of temperatures. All kinds of other systems in agriculture are built for a certain range. They were codified into building codes, engineering standards. Our buildings are not ready, our Sewer Systems are not ready. Our crops are not ready for the changes in the climate as the earth gets warmer and is precipitation rose more extreme and as Temperature Ranges shift. What has to happen is we have to move that awareness of risk from just the insurance into the rest of society. There good ways to do that but it is barely happening. This will transition from an Insurance Story to a yankee Banking Story to a property risk story. So we wind up with a civic conversation about what we are going to do with the risks. If we do not have that conversation, see what is happening in florida, insurance creeps away and the state steps in to try to replace with the market will no longer provide.
