It and also he refused to say he would veto a national ban, which he could. J. D. Vance said they it is no 11 00 on the east coast. You are watching our coverage of the second president ial debate. The first debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump, which concluded a few minutes ago in philadelphia. To your point about news being made here, trump refused to say he would veto a national abortion ban. Trump also repeatedly refused to say that he thinks or wants, thinks that it would be good or wants for ukraine to win the war. Given half a dozen opportunities. He would not say it and he talks about how he is concerned about the number of Troops Russia has lost after they invaded another sovereign country. It was stunning. Joy, to your point about the way that Kamala Harris turned it to him directly. I want to read from the transcript. Kamala harris says, Donald Trump was fired by 81 Million people, so lets be clear. Clearly he is having a difficult time processing that, but we cannot afford to have a president of the United States to up well i have traveled the world as Vice President. World leaders are laughing at Donald Trump. I have talked with military leaders. With you. And they say you are a disgrace and when you then talk this way in a president ial debate over and over about Court Cases and you lost because you did lose the election, leads one to believe that perhaps we do not have in the candidate to my right the Temperament Or Ability to not be confused about that fact and that is deeply troubling and The American people deserve better. That is what you are talking about. The camera talking to people at home and talking to her opponent in ways that deeply, deeply rattled him and she is able to do it in the same answer. The democratic Vice President ial nominee, governor Tim Walz. Governor walz, i appreciate you making time to be here with us tonight, thank you. Think you for having me. You are at a Watch Party in arizona. Tell us how you assessed your Running Mates performance. I am out here in mesa and folks across the country got to see a president for all americans. You saw Kamala Harris conduct herself with dignity. She laid out a clear vision for an opportunity economy. To make sure Prescription Drugs are not too expensive and tackling the real problems and doing it all with Grace And Dignity and on the other side you saw a nearly 80yearold angry narcissist continue to do things that in any other setting i think the good news is a lot of americans will see this clip. They are going to talk to their neighbors and they are going to see what Vice President harris is bringing to them. She talks about them. He talks about himself. He goes on tangents that are hard to follow, so i have to tell you i am excited about this. Im glad more people are engaging and we have an opportunity. All of this, doing it with joy. A politics of joy, a politics of possibilities versus this increasingly dark. What i say is this guy is rooting against america. He is rooting for failure. He does not want good news. He does not want good economic news. He does not want to see Unemployment Or Inflation going down. He wants to see the worst because whatever twisted vision he has, he thinks he is the guy to fix it when he is the guy who started the problem. So she did a great job. I am really proud of her. She was just getting praised at this table that right out of the gate she was able to get to a lot of the details of her policy proposals. The kinds of practical proposals youre talking about, like Child Tax Credit and a Tax Deduction for Startup Businesses and first time homeowners. She laid out those things and it is important obviously to communicate those things to The American people with such a big audience. Tens of millions of people watching tonight. The other candidate did make a bunch of news tonight. He refused to say whether or not he would sign a national abortion ban. He refused to say that ukraine should win the war in russia. Do you yet have your own Health Care Plan and she responded by saying i have concepts of plans. I wonder if that Changes Anything for you in terms of how to campaign against him and his Running Mate . Hes the one who ruined roe and brags about it all the time. He wants his buddy to be in there and wants to undermine our alliances that kept peace in the world. He cant answer them and when you ask him for a plan, nine years on healthcare. We know what hes going to do. Hes going to destroy the aca. Get rid of preexisting condition protections. He will attack social Security And Medicare and one thing he is clear about, he will give Tax Cuts to the wealthy because that is one thing he followed through with. He has no plan. We all see this. When i was at the memorial it was clear that other countries were deeply concerned with Donald Trump coming back. Deeply concerned that his inability to do anything other than a transactional shakedown of our historical allies, as we sit on the beaches of normandy where americans died. When you give in on ukraine it empowers china, empowers putin, empowers dictators. Again, one example. He was asked for one World Leader who is with him and it was viktor orban. That is all you need to know. You have a leader in Kamala Harris who understands the importance of the alliances. She understands what it means to stand up for western democracies and what it means to talk about others. Donald trump talked about himself 99 of the time and if he wasnt talking about that he was talking about orban so i cannot of been clearer. And i want to say if i can make my plug, she did her job, americans need to do theirs. Get engaged, get the facts. Go and do some doorknocking. Talk to your neighbor. Talk to your relatives. It was clear tonight that there is only one person on that stage who should be president of the United States and that was Kamala Harris. One of the more interesting and a back and forth about he has made contrary remarks about this in recent days. He tried to claim i think not very credibly and was called out by moderators, tried to claim those comments were made sarcastically as if you were joking. It did not seem as he was. The reason this is not just about 2020, not about four years ago, it is about now. Presumably his attitude toward american elections carries through from the last one to this one and i have to ask if you and your campaign and Vice President harris are fully expecting that even if you wipe the floor with him, if you win by a lot in november, that he is going to enlist the entire republican party, nationally and in every state that he can, in trying to claim falsely that he won. That is who this guy is and lets be clear this is a threat to democracy. It is the most treasonous thing you can do to undermine a fair and free election. Hes never had anybody support, Anyone Other than a pillow guy, support is insane rhetoric around this. This is dangerous. 140 Police Officers were hurt and some were killed. This has caused issues across the country. The campaign is ready for this. We know it will be a tough race. We know he is not going to probably concede. That is why we say get out there, get engaged. Make sure we do everything necessary and i want to give a huge thank you to election workers. Folks like my mom who has been a Poll Watcher for years. Republicans, democrats, independents who do the Hard Work of democracy for no money. They are put at risk by the recklessness of Donald Trump because he cant at nearly 80 years old do something that my fourthgraders when i taught them did. When you lose a game you go shake hands and congratulate the other person and you move on. We are in this together. This guy cares nothing about democracy. He cares nothing about The American people. He cares about himself and himself only, and again i appreciate the moderators calling him out on this. Questioning him on it. Making it clear that he lost. Look, this guy is a threat. Its going to be a close election. We know it comes down to the battleground states, so for all of the listeners out there, we need you. We need you to get engaged. Harris is going to be that president for all of us. You dont have to agree with every policy, but it is very clear. Because he was willing to put the constitution above Donald Trump, so we get to continue this conversation but it is absolutely critical people know what the threat is. Governor walz i want to ask about the debate with j. D. Vance Coming Up, but while we have been talking somebody handed me something. I am going to read it to you in totality. I will read you the whole thing because i dont think you know about this. This was posted online by a woman you might have heard of whose name is Taylor Swift. Im going to read to you what she just posted. Like many of you i watched the debate tonight. If you have not already, now is a great time to do research on the issues at hand and the standings on topics that matter to you most. As a voter and make sure to watch and read everything i can about the policies and plans for this country. Recently i was made aware that a. I. Of me falsely endorsing Donald Trumps president ial run was posted. It conjured up my fears around the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that i need to be transparent about my plans for the election as a voter. The simplest way to combat this is with the truth and she said i will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 president ial election. Im voting for Kamala Harris because she fights for the rights and causes i believe we need a warrior to champion them. I believe she is a gifted leader and we can accomplish more in this country and not by chaos. I was impressed by her selection of Running Mate Tim Walz, standing with lgbtq rights, ivf and womans rights to her own body. Im doing my research and have been my choice. I find it is much easier to vote early. With love and hope, Taylor Swift. Signed, childless cap lady. I have to get your response to that, mister governor. Im grateful to Taylor Swift and i say that as a cat owner. Weve seen it out of the republicans at the dnc. They were forced to go out because they nearly died and cant get abortion services during a pregnancy. Now you have someone like Taylor Swift making that very clear. This will be the opportunity for swifties. Get on over and give us a hand and get things going. You have your own debate with j. D. Vance Coming Up quickly. Do you have thoughts about how to approach that . He is a yale law guy. Im a public school teacher, so we know where he is at on that. I think it is a good opportunity to contrast where we are at. Things that impact americans, making sure they have the opportunity to thrive. Making sure we are being factual, so im looking forward to it. I will work hard. That is what we will do. Senator vance is a United States senator, he will come well prepared. The american public is on the side of truth. On the side of things that impact their lives in a positive way. And i will continue to put that out and continue to lift up this incredible vision that Kamala Harris brought up tonight. To be joyful, hopeful, and look, it is what it is. Dont Mistake Ursine mistake her kindness for weakness. You put bullies in her place and she put a bully in his place all night and before our eyes. Donald trump got angry. We need to keep the pressure on and when this thing. We dont know what the voters will think of tonights debate. We dont know how many people tuned in and watched it. The immediate reaction from political observers was that Vice President harris essentially wiped the floor with Donald Trump. Joy reid said that the word she chose was destroyed. Chris hayes and Lawrence Odonnell had an interesting talk about whether or not this mightve been the best televised president ial Debate Performance ever, not just Donald Trump, but any president ial debate. Again, we dont know how viewers at large will view it, but at least here are tiny, weird Focus Group thinks she did very well. Given that it does not necessarily lend itself to an obvious next choice. You could leave it at this and decide it was a good way to leave yourself in the minds of voters, heading into the Voting Booth or you could agree to another debate. If Donald Trump agreed to do it, do you think Vice President harris should debate them again . I dont want to speak for her, but i would be encouraging her to do it every day if she could. It is the same, old, tired agenda that he brings every time and she brings the ability to articulate what americans are asking for. In his mind 99 of people, whatever that is, it is him and whoever else is in his head. She will make that decision. We agreed to these two debates. We will carry them out and see where they go, but i encourage americans not to believe this is over by any stretch. We know that it will be close. We know there will be attempts to try to discourage people from voting, but Taylor Swift is right. Get registered, get engaged and voting is the entry point. Maybe make a few Phone Calls and do doorknocking. If you can contribute. Those are the things that help us take the message to the country. Minnesota governor Tim Walz, sir i know there is a lot of pressure on your schedule tonight. Thank you for spending some of it here with us. Thanks, rachel. Good luck, sir. I want to point out that Taylor Swift has 283 Million followers and 1 Million people have already liked that Instagram Post it already has 1 Million like send it only came out during our interview. Yes and it is not the first post. She has posted three other things since then. Taylor swift is not just a celebrity. She actually commands a humongous squad of particularly young White Women and i think it is important to point that out. One of the places that democrats have never been able to do well is among white voters, even young white voters. Even young White Women. Dobbs has changed a lot, but you also had people like Taylor Swift who culturally put forward a vision of young womanhood that is super modern and she has been relentlessly attacked by the j. D. Vance world as being a bad Role Model because she is unmarried. So she now is leaning into the exact demographic that j. D. Vance relentlessly targets. That he relentlessly disrespects. She commands so much popularity among her super fans that they changed the nfl in a lot of ways, so it is not a small endorsement. It is a big deal. A lot of her fans are too young to buy concert tickets. So taylor Swifts Fandom is made up of fans and parents. Their moms and dads. If there were ever a campaign and candidacy, a push on choice, on eliminating exceptions, on positive Role Models and humility and joy. This may be a Door Swinging open for the Girl Dads for harris. May i say as a hopeless bleeding heart liberal, i did not think we would get football a Travis Kelce situation, i did not see that coming. Note that Kendrick Lamar is going to be there like it is also a theme of the harris campaign. To your point about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce and what that is is a popculture phenomenon. The idea of going and talking about the purpose and all this stuff. It is true that this Fringe Weirdness is a huge part of what is the modern night, the Donald Trump Coalition And Rfk endorsing all this stuff. That is their play. The Rfk Vote and the podcast, versus Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. The only jobs he has had his as a protege of an eccentric Rightwing German Billionaire who said his democracy should never have been attempted and everything went downhill since women got the right to vote. That is the only person he has ever had jobs working for and that is who bought him his u. S. Senate seat. It is the only election he has ever run in and they picked him as Vice President to Donald Trump. They could have somebody to normalize Donald Trump. Instead they picked the intern to a man who does not believe in democracy and who spent a good part of his own political life trying to convince white ring billionaires that they should move to floating Shipping Attenders in the middle of the sea, because no land based continent can contain them. By the way he is now the person with the second closest finger on the button to n 80 yearold declining Senior Citizen who you can see is cognitively declining, but not only that they are running against the whole culture. It is Beyonce And Taylor swift. Budweiser and the nfl. It is all of it. But it is a 5050 race. To bring this back to reality, literally. I feel like i have never been impressed by endorsements. They tend to be people who the base already identifies with. This is, i think, the most important endorsement we have ever seen in a president ial campaign. The harris for President Campaign and the two most perfectly timed and important endorsements of this campaign. Joe bidens 27 minute timed endorsement after he said im not the candidate. Perfectly. It is so important to the people consuming the Taylor Swift endorsement. I watched the debate. I didnt decide this yesterday. It is a new candidate for all of us, so i watched a more than 90 minute debate. I watched this candidate against the other candidate and i thought about it and here i am. Here is my endorsement. The timing is exquisite. The wording is flawless and perfect, right down to the cat lady stuff. For someone who has never been impressed by a celebrity endorsement, this is perfect and powerful. There is also something that is amazing bookends about the Taylor Swift Endorsement And Dick cheney endorsement. The same campaign. Really big coalition. Lets bring Alex Wagner in and Claire Mccaskill who are in philadelphia at the site of the debate. That was fun. There are moments when i ran over to claire and are you seeing what i am seeing . I will say, rachel, we have been hearing your coverage and one of the things that really stood out to me tonight was the stagecraft of these candidates. The fact that Kamala Harris repeatedly, almost constantly looking at the camera and talking to you at home. The fact that Donald Trumps pronoun of choice was not you or me, but she, directing all of his comments to Kamala Harris and she was directing all of her answers to the viewers at home. She knew she was making a case and to me it felt like she was making a case to moderates and republicans. Over and over again she was speaking in language that was, i think, welcoming to people that might still be on the fence and even on the most incendiary topics. Issues of race and identity. She talked about uniting the country, rather than talking about the politics of the personal. The personal attacks Donald Trump has launched on her. She has an expansive view of the presidency and questions of Identity And Race and also bringing people who dont know that much about what Donald Trump has been saying and the reaction to that. I was struck by the welcoming and involved nature of her responses. Let me just jump in. Sorry to interrupt, we are just going to go to Kamala Harris live. We have folks here who have been knocking on doors. But we have a lot of work to do. We highlighted for The American people whats at stake. I started the debate by talking about it and it became apparent throughout that hour and a half that, look, this is very much two different visions for our country. Ours is a vision for the future. And his, which is about the past and taking us backward. We are not going back. You are not going back. So we know what we are fighting for. We know what we stand for and that is why we know what we are fighting for. We are fighting for the dignity of all people. We are fighting for middle class families. Fighting to uplift people and that the strength of a leader is not based on who you beat down, it is based on who you lift up. That is what we stand for so we have today was a good day and it kind of was. We are still the underdogs in this race. It is tight. We have got to win pennsylvania. And we are not going it is because of you. It is because of you who have signed up, who have volunteered and are organizing, helping us Email And Text and knock on doors and talk to your neighbors and friends. Heres the thing about the spirit of the campaign. It is people driven. It is about the people. It is about uplifting our country. This was a campaign born out of love of country and we love our country. We believe in who we are. We believe in The American people. This is a campaign about bringing folks together, knowing the vast majority of us have so much more in common than what separates us. It is about inclusion and it is not about division and it is not about the Meaning And Name calling. It is about lifting folks up, working folks, families, children. People who are not just trying to get by, but trying to get ahead, that is what we stand for. So lets get out for the next 56 days. Hard work is good work and we will win we will win see you later. Vice president Kamala Harris. And the second gentleman, her husband, doug emhoff, speaking at a Watch Party tonight in philadelphia. Just after the conclusion of tonights blockbuster president ial debate. They are playing Taylor Swift right now and maybe they would be doing it anyway. Taylor swift just issued her megaendorsement of the campaign on instagram. Instantly 1 Million likes and counting and perhaps the most anticipated and consequential Celebrity Campaign Endorsement we have seen. I dont even know what to compare it to. Can we go back to our Friends Claire and alex who are in philadelphia . Claire, we so rudely ripped the camera away from you because we wanted to get the Vice President harris and her remarks at that Watch Party, but i need to hear more from you about what you thought about her Performance Tonight and how this went. Well, listen. His premise of the debate was she is not strong enough to negotiate with people and go Toe To toe with people and what The American people watched was her go Toe To toe with him and owning him. From the moment she walked out and chased him down to shake his hand and introduced herself and then the way she reeled him in. You know, like Shooting Fish in a barrel on the Crowd Size and people leaving his rallies. She owned the debate from that point on. That is when he got mad. Got rattled. He started talking about eating dogs and all of those things. If he turned into this debate and you hadnt paid attention, you would go that guy is running for president . That is weird. I think she demonstrated how good it would be going Toe To toe with the bad guys in the world. She did a good job going Toe To toe with this guy. We just saw her tell that Watch Party in philadelphia in not so many words, she said today was a good day. I think that the campaign, i dont know if they had an instant response or they just know what happened on the debate stage, but clearly they think this went as well as i think most observers think it went. I will ask you the same question i asked of Tim Walz, who we interviewed live. Given how well this went for Kamala Harris, should she debate him again or just leave it at this . Oh, i dont think he would debate again, but i dont think she should miss the opportunity to ever have a sidebyside contrast. I think it checks so many boxes for her. People get to know her better. They see her strength. They see that she is focused on them and not herself and i do Think Alex was right. She really looked at the camera and repeatedly said this is about making sure the you feel good about the future. That your government can do something for you that will help you and it was such a stark difference. You should know that alex is not next to me right now because trump has come in, just so you know that has happened and he is desperately trying to get the attention that i think he needs as oxygen at this point, even though i think most of the people in this room that are here on his behalf know that he had a bad night. Is he standing there like he has his own surrogate, trying to get people to talk to him . Exactly. Exactly. He walked in the room. We knew something was going on. The Secret Service was around, but we were assuming it would be j. D. Vance. Actually Donald Trump walked in to the Spin Room to spin on that. That is something. That is not a sign of Strength Or Confidence in your own performance when youre trying to extend past the final bell. Images of what is happening in the Spin Room. Jen psaki, how do you think Vice President harris did . I will start by playing the role of Ari Melber because he is not here and i am a swiftie and a mother of a swiftie. Here is the song they were playing. Im so sick running as fast as i can, wondering if i would get there quicker if i was a man. I dont know if they know how perfect that song was for this moment. They may know, but one of the things striking to me about the debate was she shifted the power dynamics. From the moment she did that handshake. She didnt just reach her arm out. She chased him down. He never really recovered control of the debate, which is interesting. It is a reflection to me of how she has been underestimated over and over and over. People can relate to that out there. There were many moments i think she reached the people at home. Her Abortion Answer was a complete masterpiece. The question is what will you do now. They can take that. They can use that to build support among the women that they need more support from. White women as troy was talking about. She is not where Joe Biden was among women yet in terms of the percentage of what he won in 2020. There is more room to go. That Abortion Answer was one of the best moments. There were many good moments. We will take a very quick break. We have a lot more to get to tonight. Including checking in with undecided voters in arizona. It will be very interesting to see what their take was on all of this. Lots more, stay with us. We will be right back. And im going to tell you, i have traveled the world as Vice President of the United States and World Leaders are laughing at Donald Trump. I have talked with military leaders, some of whom worked with you and they say you are a disgrace. Announcer Kamala Harris was given one important job as Vice President Monitor And Control our southern border. How did she do . Did she take the job seriously . Did she do all she could to protect american citizens from an invasion . Did she do anything at all . Lester you havent been to the border. Harris and i havent been to europe. I dont understand the point that youre making. Announcer heres her grim Score Card murders, rapes, attacks on children. A 12yearold girl in texas. A mother of five in maryland. A Nursing Student in georgia. All savagely murdered by those biden and harris let into our country unlawfully. Harris we have a secure border. Announcer Kamala Harris was and is a complete failure at her job. Now shes asking us for a promotion. Who in their right mind would give it to her . They dont want that and i pledge to you when congress passes a bill to put back in place the protections of roe v. Wade, as president of the United States i will proudly sign it into law. Vice president Kamala Harris speaking on abortion at Tonights President ial debate. Lets get back to philadelphia. Alex is standing by with California Governor Gavin newsom. Thanks, rachel. A few minutes ago, governor, Donald Trump entered the Spin Room. There has been speculation and rumors earlier. I actually was skeptical, because i was able to enter this arena this was not a highly secure facility for someone who just survived an assassination attempt. Nevertheless he was just here. What you think that represents . An act of desperation. From the moment she came out on stage, when she introduced herself she had the courage to go over and shake his hand. Clearly he was uncomfortable and she introduced herself as Kamala Harris. She commanded the room from the second she came out. She was commanderinchief and he was on defense the entire night. If this were a Prizefight It wouldve been tko in the second round. She did as well or better than any of us could and i know her well enough to know the best is yet to come. Even more with more experience, more time on the campaign trail. You are going to see a quality of her performance. We just played the sound and the exchange with Donald Trump and overturning roe v. Wade. At one point he said he had done a great service to the country. Three Supreme Court justices who would overturn roe and said it was what everyone wanted. When you think of the issue that could decide the election, that could be the whole ballgame. The way she was able to humanize that and talk about 12 or 13yearolds clutching Teddy Bears as they are giving birth. In mississippi there was one girl in seventh grade. That is Donald Trumps america. She was able to bring that to light in an emotional way. That was the most significant moment of the debate because she spoke for millions and millions and millions of women and parents of daughters. That was a significant, significant moment and it is not an indictment of Joe Biden by any stretch of the imagination, but it shows what she is capable of doing in terms of communication on issues like that. To a whole other level and now to this new and expanded audience and that goes back to why Donald Trump was in the Spin Room. It was a bad night for him. Her ability to talk about abortion in a deeply emotional way is resonant enough that it is not just fathers of daughters or women, but men, people all over the country understand the gravity of the situation. People are sick of the way women have been treated. Sick of the way the Lgbtq Community has been treated. Sick of how immigrants have been treated. That was another great part of this debate. Near the end when they talked about the issues of race. I saw there was a young girl, she walked from the back of the room to the front of the room. I almost get emotional about this. She was looking at that screen, because she saw herself. That was a different level of attachment. It didnt come from here, it came from here and that is what she brought tonight. This was not a great night for her, this was a great night for this country. For freedom, democracy, the rule of law, for Social Justice and racial justice. I am filled with pride and also because that is the Kamala Harris ive known for 30 years. We have been saying this. Im telling you, that is the Kamala Harris i have known for 30 years and she is back in a profound and deep way and i think this is a tough, tough night for the campaign, the trump campaign. How they react or how they overreact, more determinative than the punditry and the moment and how the first pole moves. I think this was shifting in a deeper way and will show itself in the course of the next few weeks. The Kamala Harris youve known for 30 years and also the Donald Trump the country has known for the last nine and maybe even a worst version that talks about pets being eaten. Dogs and cats i guess are breathing a sigh of relief tonight. No Hannibal Lecter at least. Trump really, you talked before we went into this, that trump has become a bad imitation of himself and what we saw tonight was a Vice President , former prosecutor laying these traps repeatedly. Whether it was his fathers Silver Spoon or the size of his rallies or the disgrace on the world stage. Each and every one of them. It was too easy. It was too easy. I mean the shows, the shows how consequential this election was. She laid those traps. I want to complement her, but they were not even that complex. They were trigger words and you saw his physiology. You saw his eye movement. You know where he was going to go, but it is also what the rest of the world does. Ive been in those rooms. With World Leaders. I have met with dozens and they all say what she said tonight. Theyre laughing. He is so prone to flattery. And terrified. Easily manipulated because he is weak. Weakness masquerading as strength and that weakness was exposed tonight in a profound and consequential way because it was over 90 minutes and could not get longer than that. Do you think we are told it will be the tightest election of our lifetimes. That there needs to be a meaningful change to move the numbers in any definitive way. I have to be careful not to over hype. I think we can overanalyze. Too much punditry. As i said i think this unfolds. Lets give you a couple of examples. Honestly i think the Taylor Swift endorsement, how trump reacts to that and how that can create new cycles. How he reacts in terms of his Grievance And Pity party on those networks and goes out and does large events and is consumed by how big this was and all of a sudden that can expose itself as more damaging than just the punditry of the moment. The situation tonight. So i think it was a little subjective, but i cannot objectively imagine in those 60, 80 counties within the Swing States that people were truly interested in evidence. Really kicking the tire. How anyone could have concluded that there was not just one commanderinchief and her name was Kamala Harris on stage tonight. It was an eventful evening for both sides. Do you think there should be another debate . There will be another debate . Absolutely there should be another debate in october. He said anytime, anywhere. Lets do it. All right. Governor gavin newsom. I think we are going to take the show on the road, rachel. We will sell cheese sandwiches out of the back of the bmw and follow this ride wherever it goes. Looking for a miracle. I would buy the tshirt. I would do the whole thing. Symone sanderstownsend during those. What did you think of the debate . The handshake moment, i thought that was great. It showed that she was in command. That she is not afraid of engaging and i think it put Donald Trump on his heels because he was like what is happening here . I thought that was a big moment. Masterfully she insured that the economy was strong and she was very clear in her own words what it is she was going to do. At every single turn throughout the debate, she baited him and he took it. She mentioned whorton and he was like, i went to wharton. Yes, but why arent you weighing in . I feel for the Debate Prep Team that prepped Donald Trump because i know as a former strategist, i know that is not what they encouraged him to go on the stage and do. The backandforth with david muir, shouting him down about cats and dogs. I was literally flabbergasted. That moment, the backand forth about the dog eating thing, can i just say the way that landed, was Donald Trump made this false claim. David muir said we looked into this. We checked with local authorities, it didnt happen and trumps response was i saw it on television. It on television. It was him admitting it is true to him. His Daughter And Grandpa moment. It was really, really, really negative. If he is trying to show himself as a commander president. Just as bad when you followed up with him. Back and forth with david muir. Excuse me. The other moderator. Do you have a plan on Obama Care. I have concepts of plans what, what if harris would of given that. If she just had a concept without a plan. She would be on the front page of the new york times, i am looking forward to seeing the coverage. Donald trump needs to be covered just as rigorously as Voice President harris has been covered. I think she gave clear answers and and waved got her side in there. She found moments to turn to the camera and speak to the people at home. Many thmoments from that, that would hope would be turned into ads from the campaigns perspective. The, i am sure a lot of people watched and we will get the numbers, but not everybody did. People need to be reminded what happened on the stage. We just saw Vice President harris getting on the plane. She will be at September 11 Commemorative events she beat athim at the busine of television. And the reason this is so important is that is what he is actually good at. He got it and then went bankrupt, when he became a Business Success and political success is because he is a great entertainer and he knows how to entertain in a room and he failed over and over. There was a moment they were going back and forth about the economy a complicated one. Tariffs matter because during covid we saw that we did not manufacture chips there and she looked right at him. Yeah, athat is why we instille the chips act 53 Billion to manufacture them here. I nuwill just say during the debate i talked to a number of republicans. I spoke to former members of Trumps Administration who said, well, i still dont know her policies and i said how. He said i housing, small business, Child Tax Credit, those are hand outs. Well, then, what is cutting corporate taxes . Right, they are both stim less stimulus. I have concepts to replace Obama Care and the last thing i would say, the other thing that i heard from republicans, the one line, moderators they did not like trump, they only liked harris, really . Well, he got an additional five minutes. He spoke for five minutes longer. He spoke 39 times to her 23 times and where she was so masterful she did not scream and shout. Because she cant, because she say woman, because she say black woman, if she got outraged in any way she would get it for that. And, she laid it out and she a was masterful in how this whole night went. You know it because when you went to the Spin Room, yeah, h, she wants a rematch because she knows she lost come on now. Politically we will see what the wivoters say and what everyone thought but you get a larger takeaway and here was that she answered questions, gave it as good as she got it without ever going over the line which he did, and he often didnt answer questions and lied. Now, some weof his fans in some casual viewers may not catch every lie, that is the thing about his lies, but you got the overall impression over time that she was giving answers and you did not have to be listening that closely to notice abortion is a big issue. Does he support a national ban, he will not say. He said i have not talked to j. D. About that. Showing strength there. Yes. That takeaway and the mood was in her favor even after the lies. We are going to take one more quick break and when we come back as promised we will check in with the undecided voters, he watched the debate with in arizona in chphoenix, w have a lot to get to. It was a really, really, really big night. Stay with us. Really, really big night. Stay w. As It Ith us.
